Reimagining Control Panel Fabrication: Driving Efficiency at THINK-PLC ? Over the past few years, THINK-PLC has more than doubled in size—and with growth came a challenge: how do we sustain and scale our production without sacrificing quality, speed, or innovation? The answer? Investment in efficiency. Our control panel fabrication department is a prime example. We've implemented a wire processing center that have transformed how we build. These systems drive 40%+ time savings (even more in some cases!) by seamlessly handling: ? Bundling – Organized, ready-to-install wire sets ? Prepping & Labeling – No manual sorting, eliminating errors ? Perfect Stripping & Crimping – Every wire is production-ready from the start This isn’t just incremental improvement—it’s a fundamental reimagining of what panel fabrication can be. By refining our process from design to assembly, we’re not only improving speed but also enhancing precision, reducing waste, and ensuring consistency across every build. At THINK-PLC, we take an OEM-centric approach to high-volume panel builds, ensuring scalability, repeatability, and cost-effectiveness for our customers. Whether you need wire harness assemblies, or a complete panel build solution, we’ve built our processes to deliver at scale without compromising quality. ?? Reach out today to see how we can support your next project! #ManufacturingInnovation #ControlPanels #Automation #Efficiency #ThinkPLC #OEM #PanelFabrication

In a noteworthy recent project based in North Carolina at a Plastics Regrind facility, an extensive upgrade was undertaken, where nearly 30 control panels were updated, leaving just one untouched. This entailed migrating a range of systems, including older models such as Plc Fob and S five. The client's foresight enabled the establishment of a uniform standard across the board. This started with the integration of DMC blocks in the initial extruder design, a practice rooted in version 15.1 of the software. A significant advantage of this uniform approach was the consistent size of touchscreens across every machine, a feature that not many companies consider. This consistency was further bolstered by the HMI template suite offered by Siemens. By adopting this standard internally, it granted a coherent and predictable interface for the operators. Whether they're working on an extruder or a water control system, the interface layout remains constant, especially for crucial functions like alarms and machine resets. The standardization, grounded in the HMI template suite, has streamlined the upgrade process. The approach has been so successful that the North Carolina-based client has sought to replicate the same system in their Chino, California facility, leading to extended collaborations across coasts. This interstate standardization offers benefits like unified manuals and consistent tech support referencing, making the process more efficient. Feedback from the client wasn't merely focused on the expenditure for the upgrades. Instead, they highlighted the increased EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) they've experienced over the past two years as a direct result of these improvements. This positive financial outcome underscores the tangible benefits of the project beyond just the technical upgrades.
