Just sending a little bit of love to anyone like me that lives in Florida. Thank goodness I have been spared the brunt of this storm, but my heart goes out to those who haven’t been so lucky. May God have mercy on my fellows, citizens, and friends in the path of hurricane Milton. Know this, my friends and neighbors, we will be there to support you when you need us. ???? https://lnkd.in/e2yu6cFi

The Glass Half Full: A Perspective of Value In the world of business and life, we are often presented with situations that are neither complete nor ideal; much like the proverbial glass…half full of water. How we interpret this incomplete reality reveals not only our mindset but our approach to opportunity, resilience, and gratitude. Imagine two individuals faced with this same glass. The first, a man parched and weary from a long, arduous journey, eyes the water with relief. To him, the glass represents life itself. Each drop is a treasure, a chance to quench his thirst, to refresh his body, and to prepare for the journey ahead. His perspective, forged in the fires of necessity and hunger, sees the value of what is there, not what is missing. For him, the half glass of cool water is a gift, and he drinks deeply, grateful for every ounce. Now consider the second individual, a well-heeled man, comfortable and untouched by thirst. He gazes at the same glass with disdain. To him, it is incomplete, and insufficient. He complains about the missing volume, fixating not on the presence of water, but on the absence of some of it. This man, with all his privileges, is blinded by expectation. He measures the glass by what it *lacks*, never pausing to recognize the true value of what it *has*; the many drops of water that wait to serve him and bring him life. Although they’re presented with the same half-glass of water, they inhabit entirely different realities, these two strangers. Their reactions are not determined by the glass, or the water, but by their perspectives. As entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders, we face the glass-half-full every day. The world will never hand us a full glass of water, nor will our situations meet our every expectation. The key to success lies in our ability to see the value in what is given to us and to build upon it. The thirsty man does not wait for a full glass of water—he drinks what he has and moves forward. The complacent man, however, waits endlessly for perfection, missing every opportunity in front of him. Opportunity rarely presents itself in a perfect form. It arrives incomplete, in half measures, and it is up to us to recognize its potential. A great leader doesn’t complain about the missing volume; a leader uses what’s available, builds upon it, and creates something amazing. An amusing and final reflection to close these thoughts that I’ve shared with you… While we debate whether the glass is half empty or half full, we forget that the glass is, in fact, entirely full! The glass is half-filled with water and half-filled with air. So, the glass, as it turns out, was always 100% full. It just wasn’t full of everything we wanted. A good lesson in life and a good lesson in business. “You can’t always get what you want…. “ Well, you know the song. ?? #Leadership #Perspective #Entrepreneurship #Opportunity #Gratitude #Mindset #TheRollingStones

My son was first to greet me with a “Happy Father’s Day” wish today. He had a smile on his face and a gift in his hand. He told me how much he respects the mark I’ve made on the world. I told him: “My true mark on the world will be the love I’ve left behind. I hope you know my son, that I’ve loved you with all of my heart.” He said: “I know Dad, I love you too.” A short hug and a few tears later and we were back to normal. But I know the truth and he does too. The real Father’s Day gift was the two of us sharing this time in our lives together. I love you Son. I know you love me too. ??

I came from nothing, just like them. But when I became something, when I became someone; they were not happy for me. My successes reminded them of their failures. And so, they hated me. They persecuted me. All from the hatred that lies within themselves. The hatred of themselves. And I was left as an egg with no shell. For the shell that surrounded me, now hated me for being more than an egg, or a yoke, or a shell. They could not understand me anymore. So they hated me instead. It was just easier for them. In time I learned that it was just easier for me too. An Excerpt : - The Book of Andrew
