A women-led network dedicated to connecting women and celebrating ambition
关于我们
The Women's Network (TWN) is a national women’s networking organization that was launched on the campus of Syracuse University in the fall of 2017 by founder Jamie Vinick. TWN was created to provide collegiate women with the resources and tools they need to authentically and successfully network. TWN recognizes key barriers women often encounter when entering and advancing in the workforce, and works to amplify women’s voices to combat such obstacles. The Women's Network is a community of high-achieving, motivated women who are “unapologetically ambitious.” TWN provides opportunities to network with female leaders in a wide array of professions in order to expose members to different industries and career paths. Our speakers have ranged from CEOs to broadcast anchors, journalists to best-selling authors, STEM researchers to architects, and visionary entrepreneurs. In addition, the Network connects women to peers on their respective campuses and around the country. We host national and chapter speaker events, career development workshops, discussion panels, alumni receptions, virtual and in-person networking trips. TWN produces a podcast – “Redefining Ambition” – to highlight the personal and professional journeys of ambitious leaders and to expose women to different career paths in order to inspire the next generation. TWN is revolutionizing networking as we know it. We are building a community of intelligent, ambitious women, while simultaneously providing critical resources and connections to help women achieve professional success. Our mission: to create a community of women that celebrates the desire to achieve, cultivating ambition to prepare the next generation of leaders.

This past week, I had the honour of moderating a speaker panel discussing the work of women within the social justice and advocacy field. In a collaborative effort between The Women's Network TCD and Society For International Affairs, we discussed our inspiring speakers’ careers, their professional advice, and the importance of political justice in today’s day and age. I would like to thank our amazing speakers, Susanne Rogers, Claire Gately, and Olive Moore for joining us for such an engaging event. I also had the privilege of organising and hosting this event with Alice Moynihan. It was truly such a gratifying experience to organise and moderate this event. Social justice is one of my passions and having the opportunity to engage in critical discussions with such inspiring individuals in the field was exemplary. I look forward to the following semesters with The Women's Network TCD where we will continue to host similar events to inspire and motivate young women in any professional field which they desire.?

Molecular Genetics Student at The Ohio State University | President of The Women's Network Chapter @ Ohio State | Deputy to the Senior Directors for USG | Social Media Chair for PERIOD @ OSU | Buckeyethon Co-Captain
One year ago, on September 1st, I interviewed to become the president of The Women's Network at Ohio State. On September 5th, I was selected as TWN-Ohio State's President. I had no clue how much TWN would change my life. I believe so strongly in TWN and our mission- I knew this would fill a void on OSU's campus. I wouldn't be where I am today without TWN. TWN has given me so much. My self confidence has grown exponentially and the Network has allowed me to make lifelong friends. I am so incredibly excited to serve as President again this year. I truly believe this Network has the power to transform you as a person. Thank you to Jamie Vinick for believing in me and lifting me up. And I wouldn't be where I am without my executive board: Nisha Makkar, Maleah Scott, Mst Tabassum, Abigail Theobald, Natalie Morral + Nikki Jindal. The Women's Network is the largest collegiate women's networking organization in the United States. TWN's mission is to support collegiate and recently graduated women and celebrate ambition. The Network hosts experiential events to build relationships and authentically connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders. Join the Network: bit.ly/jointwn. Follow us on Instagram @thewomens.network, @thewomensnetwork_osu, and @redefiningambition.

We are so proud of you, Alexandra Truwit! Ali is our former TWN-Yale University Chapter President, who demonstrated excellent leadership and led her chapter to new successes on campus. She and her leadership team planned and hosted dozens of engaging events, built and sustained a strong community, expanded TWN-Yale’s campus growth, and connected members to career and mentorship opportunities. We continue to be so in awe of and inspired by Ali’s resilience, bravery, determination, and perseverance. We are rooting for you, Ali! ??????
In May 2023, just days before her graduation from Yale University, 24-year-old Ali Truwit's life took an unimaginable turn. A celebratory snorkeling trip off Turks and Caicos turned into a fight for survival when a shark attack left her without her left foot and part of her leg. A mere 18 months later, this former Division I swimmer is set to compete in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, showcasing an inspiring journey of resilience.

Nervous to start a new job? We got you. In our latest newsletter edition, we tackled the topic of job transitions and shared advice on ways to stand out in your new role. Some key highlights: -Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions, especially during your first few weeks. This shows that you're eager to learn and understand the company's processes and expectations. It’s better to seek clarification early on than to make avoidable mistakes later. Also, make it a habit to take notes during meetings and training sessions. Documenting important information will help you remember key points and demonstrate your attentiveness. -Build Strong Relationships: Take the initiative to introduce yourself to your new colleagues. A friendly introduction can set a positive tone for future interactions. Being a team player is essential, so offer your help and support to your teammates. Plus, networking within your organization can open doors to exciting new opportunities and resources. So, get out there and mingle—attend company events, join committees, and participate in group activities. You never know who you'll meet or what amazing opportunities might come your way! -Be Proactive: Show initiative by taking on new tasks and responsibilities that go beyond your job description, as identifying and solving problems can set you apart and make you a valuable asset. Staying organized is key to managing your workload effectively, so use tools like to-do lists, calendars, and project management apps to keep track of your tasks and deadlines. Clear and concise communication is crucial for success; keep your supervisor informed about your progress and any challenges you encounter. Remember, it's normal to feel overwhelmed at the beginning, but with time and effort, you'll find your rhythm and confidence. Embrace this opportunity to learn and grow. #networking #newjob #jobadvice
