At this year’s Gala, BWLA is excited to award Jessica Ashley Garmon, Chief Operating Officer and Chief General Counsel, The Will Group, with the BALANCED Award. Jessica has been selected to receive the BALANCED award because she has demonstrated versatility in her legal career and practice while maintaining commitment to pro bono services, community outreach, and civic engagement. Jessica began her career in private practice at two major law firms but is now also the President of Industrial Electric Supply, Inc., the awarded vendor to fulfill the contract for electrical supplies covering the facilities for all higher education institutions in Illinois. In addition, Jessica serves as a Commissioner for the DuPage County Housing Authority. Recently, Jessica organized a large-scale community event where United States Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown spoke and discussed her memoir, “Lovely One.” Please join BWLA at its upcoming Spring Fundraiser Gala on April 5, 2025, at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago to celebrate Jessica and other amazing Black women lawyers who have demonstrated continued resilience and strength in the face of challenging times and circumstances.
