When climate action is unsuccessful, where is the line between toxic positivity, and stubborn optimism? ???? Oftentimes, it can be a real challenge to make systems and behaviors more sustainable. Whether it's your company, place of worship, friend group, or entire country - climate action can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. ? So what should we do when we experience setbacks? How do we stay joyful and energized in a way that also allows us to genuinely express and heal from loss and hurt? ?? Well, we wrote all about this in our most recent newsletter. Hey everyone - in lieu of our normal organizer spotlight this week, we want to take a moment to highlight the incredible work of Jenny Scholl ???? ? Jenny is an ambassador for sustainable change, a trainer, coach and mediator, especially active in adult education and a lecturer at Technische Universit?t Braunschweig. Over the past year, she’s been helping?Carolin Goethel to spread The Week in Germany through her incredible networking, organization, translation, outreach, research and much, much more! During this time, Jenny has: ???? Hosted an info call for the German Society for Sustainability in Higher Education Institutions (DG HochN) that saw an impressive 36 people attend - a mix of lecturers, professors, and university staff - phoning in from across the country. It was the best-attended call of the network in a long time! ???? Has organized more than 20+ sessions of The Week within various networks of adult education! Her ability to engage and deliver content is truly remarkable. ???? She’s been actively sharing The Week with networks of Adult Education City Colleges (VHS) and is exploring potential funding opportunities with them. ???? Jenny also took the time to update our German-language resource page with tons of useful links to books and studies! ???? And all the while she's been contributing to academic work. She’s currently submitting a 14-page paper on climate change education for a collected volume being created by the University of Bremen. Jenny, your commitment and hard work have made such huge impact, and we are so grateful to have you as part of The Week family. ?? ?? This week, we’re heading over to Denmark to shine a spotlight on an incredible organizer and ambassador, Ida Vesterdal! ?? Since she heard about The Week two years ago, Ida and her partner, Sune Kjems have organized The Week with over 300 participants, and supported more than 25 individuals in launching their own sessions. With the help of the incredible change hub Klub K?benhavn, they come together with a group of volunteers four times a year to host a session of The Week! It’s become a vibrant hub for meaningful conversations and impactful change. ?? Back in January, they even held a one-year birthday party for The Week in Denmark! 80+ people came together to share, participate in workshops, food, and fun – and even a live dialogue with Leila Hoballah! ?? She’s also created her own website to inform people about The Week in Danish! I’ll throw the link in the comments. Ida first connected with The Week around two years ago. She was inspired by Frederic Laloux’s work for many years, so when she heard about the project – she embraced the change to bring it to her community.
