Dr. Inez Beverly Prosser made history in 1933 as the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in psychology. Her groundbreaking research on how segregation impacted Black students’ self-esteem sparked critical conversations that resonated for decades. Her passion for education uplifted her family and countless students, proving the transformative power of knowledge. This #InternationalWomensMonth, we celebrate trailblazers like Dr. Prosser, whose legacy continues to inspire. #Trailblazer #BlackExcellence #HerMentalStrength #WHM2025, #TheSteveFund, #SafeSpacesforHer

Being self-aware and connecting with others is crucial as you work to build more inclusive and just communities. Understanding how identity — like race, gender, and ability — shapes your experiences can help you forge deeper connections. And, this understanding can help you advocate for justice and support your mental health at the same time. #TheSteveFund #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #justice

Mindfulness meditation is a great tool to help us center yourself, support your mental health, and sustain your efforts to work for justice. Here’s a walking meditation that can help you get started: https://lnkd.in/ghwTheRz #JusticeisHealing #BiPOC #MentalHealth #SteveFund #MyDigitalSanctuary #Meditation

Did you know? Even though nearly 60% of HBCU students reported experiencing mental health problems, only 47% of them utilized mental health services. This was one of many key findings of a collaborative study with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the Healthy Minds Network to examine the challenges, barriers to care, and resilience of students at HBCUs and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). #TheSteveFund is working with both mental health professionals and staff to break the stigma around mental health, and develop training programs, support networks, and expert-led workshops. We are committed to addressing this gap and ensuring that young people of color have the support they need to succeed and reach out for help!

Justice is more than an idea. Justice is a powerful force that helps us heal and transform. As we go about this work, we not only help to transform our communities, we liberate and heal ourselves in the process. But while we work for justice in our lives and communities, we need to also support our mental health. #JusticeisHealing #BiPOC #MentalHealth #SteveFund #MyDigitalSanctuary
