We are propelling the golden age of biology and precision medicine, helping to bring new medicines to patients faster and more cost-effectively, enabling advanced materials that are powering the digital economy and the clean energy transition, and helping to keep people safe. The opioid crisis – changing lives and fighting the flow of illegal drugs At Thermo Fisher, we are very proud of the many ways we make a positive impact by fulfilling our Mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. One example of this is our role in addressing the opioid crisis. Our broad portfolio of drug testing solutions is supporting alternative-sentencing programs that help people battling addiction stay out of prison and get the treatment and support they need. And our chemical analysis instruments are helping to stop illegal drugs on the street and at the border.

The urgent need for better technology in the battle against the opioid crisis has captured the attention of lawmakers in Washington, D.C. The POWER Act recognizes that while the opioid crisis is a national issue, its effects are felt most acutely at the local level. By equipping state and local law enforcement with sophisticated tools like our handheld chemical analyzers, the bill seeks to fight the drug trade and keep communities safe. https://lnkd.in/gHzvCxBN
