Emotional labor is the unseen weight women carry. It’s time to notice, acknowledge, and share it. From managing emotions at work to handling the mental load at home, women take on responsibilities that often go unnoticed. They are expected to be the planners, the caregivers, and the ones who "just take care of things." Not because they want to, but because it’s ingrained in workplace and household expectations. Saying no isn’t always an option. Refusing these tasks can mean being perceived as unhelpful or difficult. But emotional labor is not just a woman’s job. It is a shared responsibility. This Women’s Day, let’s challenge these unspoken expectations. Emotional labor should not be invisible. It is real work that deserves recognition. True change begins when we stop seeing it as a duty and start treating it as something to be shared equally. ?? Strong. Capable. Exhausted. If slowing down feels impossible and asking for help feels like failure, you’re not alone. The pressure to juggle everything without missing a beat isn’t just overwhelming, it’s a silent burden. Superwoman Syndrome isn’t about having too much to do. It’s about feeling like you have to do it all—without struggle, without rest. But exhaustion isn’t a badge of honor. You deserve support. You deserve to rest. And you are enough, even when you pause. At TherapHeal, a women-led organization, we know self-care isn’t a luxury. Let’s stop treating it as an afterthought and start making it non-negotiable. #therapheal #superwomansyndrome #womensmentalhealth #selfcarepost #selfcaredaily #selfcaretips #mindfulness #prioritizeyourself #selfcareisntselfish #selfcarejourney #wellbeing

Why Does Dating Feel So Overwhelming? Modern dating isn’t just about finding a connection—it’s about navigating an endless sea of choices, each one carrying the weight of possibility and regret. Psychologists call it the Paradox of Choice—the more options we have, the harder it is to feel satisfied. The pressure to make the “right” decision fuels anxiety, second-guessing, and emotional exhaustion. But clarity in dating doesn’t come from more choices—it comes from intentionality. When we shift our focus from optimizing love to experiencing it, we move away from decision fatigue and into meaningful connection. Less overthinking, more being present. Less fear of missing out, more trust in what unfolds. #therapheal #dating #onlinedating #relationships #relationshipadvice #datingproblems #datingapps #moderndating #lovelanguage #mentalhealthmatters
Love Comes in Many Forms—And They All Matter Let’s take a moment to talk about a kind of love that often gets overlooked—aromantic love. Not everyone experiences romance the same way, and for some, love isn’t tied to romantic attraction at all. That doesn’t make it any less deep, meaningful, or important. Aromantic people build their own versions of love—through friendship, family, and connections that don’t fit the typical script. So as hearts and roses fill the air, let’s also celebrate the bonds that don’t follow convention but are just as real, just as cherished, and just as valid. #therapheal #inclusivity #diversity #aromanticism #aromanticpride #aromanticspectrum #valentinesweek #loveislove #pride
Workshop on #SchemaTherapy: Identifying and Modifying Maladaptive Patterns Early maladaptive schemas, formed due to unmet childhood needs, continue to shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in adulthood. Schema Therapy is an integrative approach that helps individuals identify these deeply ingrained patterns and replace them with healthier coping mechanisms. Rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and experiential techniques, Schema Therapy is particularly effective for individuals with chronic emotional and relational difficulties. This workshop, facilitated by Akshaya Gyanashree, Clinical Psychologist at TherapHeal, is designed for mental health practitioners and psychology students looking to develop a structured approach to assessing and modifying maladaptive schemas. Participants will gain skills in case conceptualization, schema identification, intervention strategies, and practical application across various disorders. ?? Date: 8th March 2025 ? Shoutout to Karunashraya for orchestrating this profound workshop and creating a space for deep reflection on life, loss, and meaning. Their dedication to providing compassionate palliative care for patients with advanced, life-limiting illnesses, ensuring dignity, comfort, and emotional support in their final days, is truly remarkable. Karunashraya’s work is not just about medical care—it’s about walking alongside patients and families through one of life’s most vulnerable moments. We were honored to collaborate on this unique experience, supporting those who do this deeply human work every day. Confronting mortality, witnessing loss, and holding space for others can take an emotional toll. Through this workshop, participants had the opportunity to turn inward—exploring their values, strengths, and the ways in which their sense of self shapes the care they provide. A special thank you to Maajhi for guiding the Death Meditation—an experience that invited deep introspection and allowed participants to reflect on their own understanding of mortality and life. Maajhi’s passion for ensuring that people have agency, dignity, information, and the right to die well on their own terms with the grace they deserve was powerfully evident. Their thoughtful direction added a layer of profound meaning to the entire experience. Throughout this process, we at TherapHeal assisted in self-exploration exercises, helping participants reflect on their values, strengths, and the personal dimensions that shape their approach to end-of-life care. This experience wasn’t just about dying—it was about how we choose to live. Because the more we understand death, the more we embrace life. It was our privilege to be part of this journey, and we look forward to continued collaboration with Maajhi and Karunashraya as we co-create spaces for reflection, growth, and deeper conversations around life and loss. #therapheal #workshop #mindfulness #caregivers #psychologytoday #medicalprofessionals #selfreflection #personalgrowth
Loving Someone with Mental Health Struggles Caring for a partner with mental health struggles means offering patience, understanding, and steady support—but it doesn’t mean carrying their burdens alone. Love should be a space of mutual care, where both people feel valued and respected. Remember, being there for them also means taking care of yourself. #therapheal #mentalhealthsupport #love #supportinglovedones #strongertogether #youarenotalone
Insights from Our Session with Dr. Rathna Isaac In our latest Rooted Reflections session, we explored the depths of subjective countertransference—what it reveals about us as therapists and how it shapes the therapeutic process. Here are some key takeaways: ?? Noticing Countertransference: What we observe in ourselves during sessions—our emotions, reactions, and even non-verbal cues—can offer profound insights. ?? Reflection in Action: As Dr. Rathna shared, "Countertransference is an opportunity." By understanding our own reactions, we gain deeper insight into our clients' internal worlds. ?? Interpersonal Clues: If a client elicits a particular response in us, it’s worth considering: "If a client is drawing out a certain reaction/feeling out of me, then they are probably drawing it out of individuals they are interacting with outside the session as well." This can reflect underlying interpersonal patterns. ?? When Values are Challenged: Some clients may bring experiences that question our own value systems, triggering unexpected responses—recognizing this is key to managing countertransference. ?? Beyond the Therapy Room: In today’s digital age, transference and countertransference don’t just happen in sessions—they can manifest on social media too. Bringing these dynamics into therapy is crucial. A thought-provoking discussion that reminded us why self-awareness is at the heart of therapeutic work.
