Increase workplace diversity by increasing the diversity of business school faculty
关于我们
It’s time to rethink traditional approaches to workplace diversity and inclusion. Despite decades of good intentions, too many efforts have fallen short. At The PhD Project, we're charting a different course, working to build a more diverse workforce by targeting the most reliable source of great leaders: America’s business schools. By creating a more diverse population of business PhDs, we are transforming business education – and transforming business – for everyone. We are a growing community of educators, students, and business leaders who share our conviction that meeting the challenge of building diversity in our workforce demands the same qualities that have built the American economy: innovation, entrepreneurialism, and determination. Through conferences, mentoring, and networking, we encourage and support diverse candidates on their journey to acquiring a PhD. We are a critical bridge between businesses and our alumni PhDs and their students, providing connections to high-potential recruits. With demonstrated success in creating more diverse business faculty, we are doing more than transforming the face of business education. We are inspiring new generations of future leaders, bringing diversity to our workforce, and creating a better world for all of us.

A special thank you to PhD Project member Dr. Herrison Chicas from Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business for sharing your impactful research! Our Latinx/Hispanic American members are making a positive difference both in the classroom and across society. Dr. Chicas' research highlights a critical organizational challenge: "Global factors such as declining birth rates, increasing globalization, and unprecedented immigration are reshaping the workforce. These changes bring both challenges and opportunities, as organizations must effectively integrate and motivate a more diverse workforce. My research explores the unique needs and perspectives of marginalized employees, offering practical solutions for the organizations of tomorrow." As we reflect on #HispanicHeritageMonth, it serves as an entry point to learn about the rich heritage of our neighbors, classmates, and colleagues. Although the month of celebration has ended, we continue to celebrate and highlight the contributions of the Latinx/Hispanic community year-round. #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinxInBusiness #DiversityInAction #ThePhDProjectTurns30 #IAmAPhDProjectPearl #ThePhDProject #EnrichingEducationForAll #MakingADifference #BuildingDiversityTogether #RepresentationMatters #RoleModelEffect #NuestraCultura #NuestraHerenciaLatina

Our Latinx/Hispanic American members are not only positively impacting their classrooms, but also society. PhD Project member Dr. Zachariah Berry of USC Marshall School of Business, a second-generation Mexican American, explains what his research is currently focused on during #HispanicHeritageMonth. “I study morality at work, focusing on how people navigate conflicts between their values. My research explores how values like loyalty or passion can lead to both positive and negative outcomes, offering insight into this tension.” Want to impact the next generation? In celebration of #HispanicHeritageMonth, we asked our Latinx/Hispanic American members to share their research and its importance. Here’s what PhD Project member Priscilla Pe?a, Ph. D. of University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business had to say. “Brands have immense power to shape social issues, but inauthentic brand activism or 'woke-washing,' can be perceived as ingenuine. My research focuses on the impact of such stances and ways to foster genuine positive change, with a focus on amplifying marginalized voices, like Latinos, in both my research and teaching." #ThePhDProjectTurns30 #IAmAPhDProjectPearl #ThePhDProject #EnrichingEducationForAll #MakingADifference #BuildingDiversityTogether #RepresentationMatters #Marketing #RoleModelEffect #NuestraCultura
