We are thrilled to announce that Carlos Ventura has been selected as our Manager of the Quarter for Q4-2024 at Blue Goose Cantina. Carlos Ventura has been an integral part of the Blue Goose Cantina family since 2008, starting as a line cook in Plano and working his way up to Kitchen Manager through hard work, leadership, and dedication. Originally from Guerrero, Mexico, Carlos has always had a passion for cooking and takes great pride in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen while training and mentoring new team members. His commitment to excellence is evident in the way he controls food and labor costs, ensuring both quality and efficiency in the heart of the restaurant. Carlos's area Director, Augie, describes him as incredibly reliable and someone who always finds solutions, making him an invaluable part of the team—especially when it comes to handling large catering orders with precision and care. Outside of work, Carlos is a romantic at heart who enjoys listening to Los Temerarios, playing and watching soccer (especially cheering on Chivas), and spending quality time with his wife and daughter. Whether he’s cooking tacos at home, enjoying a steak at Texas Roadhouse, or relaxing with a good action movie, he brings the same passion to his personal life as he does to his work. His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence make him more than deserving of the Manager of the Quarter title. Congratulations, Carlos!

We are delighted to announce Gabby B. as the recipient of the Manager of the Quarter award for Q2-2024 at Big Shucks Oyster Bar! Gabby's journey with Big Shucks is a testament to her dedication. Her connection to the Mockingbird location spans over 13 years as a loyal customer, making it a favorite spot for her and her husband. Born in Mexico and raised in Dallas, Gabby's deep connection to the community she now serves as a Restaurant Manager is evident in her every action. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and familial environment at Big Shucks has made her an integral part of our team. ? Gabby's love for music and concerts, most recently enjoying a performance by Romeo Santos, reflects her vibrant personality and passion for life. Her enthusiasm and joy are contagious, and she is known for her loud, happy laugh. Outside of work, she enjoys playing adult kickball with her husband, a tradition they’ve maintained for 11 years, and cherishes watching her son play football. She loves dancing, hosting family and friends, and cooking, starting her own Thanksgiving traditions once she moved into her own home. Gabby always wondered what it would be like to work at Shucks; now that she is, she loves it. She feels like everybody at Shucks is family, and this sense of belonging has allowed her to spend more time with her kids since leaving her former corporate restaurant job. Mentored by Eric Tobar and Elizabeth Ruiz, Gabby has embraced their advice to stay true to herself and show everyone who she is. ? Gabby’s commitment to hospitality and great customer service, along with her ability to mold employees in these areas, makes her a standout leader. She has always wanted to be a teacher, and now she gets to fulfill that passion by teaching her team. Gabby's confidence in making a difference and her genuine love for people is evident in everything she does. To be recognized as a floor manager is an incredible honor for her, and she is deeply grateful and blessed. Congratulations, Gabby, on this well-deserved recognition!

We’re excited to announce that our Manager of the Quarter for Q1 2024 is none other than our incredible Danielle S., who has been an outstanding part of the Aw Shucks family since October 2022. Originally hired for her exceptional skills and dynamic personality, she quickly proved herself indispensable within the company. Her journey with Aw Shucks has been marked by dedication, enthusiasm, and a relentless commitment to excellence. A native of Los Angeles, she brings a unique blend of creativity and passion to her role, rooted in her background in Fine Arts. Not only did she curate her first art show during the Covid pandemic and sell out, but she also has an impressive history, including working at NASA’s space station office during her senior year of high school. Her vibrant personality shines through in her eclectic taste in music—ranging from the soulful tunes of Kendrick Lamar to the timeless hits of Taylor Swift. When she’s not at Shucks, you can find her indulging in her love for movies, whether rewatching her favorite sci-fi classic "Independence Day" or enjoying a heartfelt rom-com like "Little Women." Her favorite food is spaghetti, and she has a soft spot for Carrabba’s in Houston, the original location where she enjoys dining out. Beyond the restaurant world, she loves karaoke despite playfully admitting she’s a terrible singer. Her go-to karaoke songs include hits from Taylor Swift, the playful "Thong Song" by Sisqó, and soulful tracks by Amy Winehouse. She also deeply loves her two kittens and a dog, adding warmth and joy to her life outside of work. What truly sets Danielle apart as the Manager of the Quarter is her unwavering dedication to making people’s day better. She believes in the power of simple, positive interaction and takes pride in contributing to the community. Her role at Aw Shucks is more than just a job; it’s about being a part of the community’s milestones and making every customer’s experience memorable. Her commitment to meeting goals and consistently having one-on-one sessions to set and achieve targets showcases her drive for excellence. We are thrilled to celebrate Pacy G. as the recipient of the Manager of the Quarter award for Q1-2024! Since joining Blue Goose Cantina as a manager in February 2023, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a profound dedication to her role. Hailing from Arlington, Texas, and armed with a degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M Commerce, Pacy has always had a passion for the hospitality industry. She has a natural talent for connecting with people, making every guest feel welcome and valued. Her rapid rise within the company is a testament to her hard work, enthusiasm, and the positive impact she has on both her team and our customers. Outside of her professional achievements, Pacy brings a vibrant personal touch to everything she does. She grew up listening to 70s and 80s music, with artists like Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Monkees, The Beatles, and Prince holding a special place in her heart due to her mother and grandmother's influence. Committed to a vegan lifestyle for the past eight months, Pacy was inspired by a Netflix documentary to focus on the environmental and health benefits of her diet, and she often cooks at home. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, whether it’s swimming, hiking, or gardening. Pacy also enjoys crafting, creating suncatchers, painting rocks to hide for others to find, drawing, quilting with her grandmother, and doing crafts with her mom. Her unique blend of professional dedication and personal warmth makes Pacy an invaluable member of the Goose family, and we are proud to recognize her outstanding contributions with this well-deserved award.

Diana R, Manager at Big Shucks Mockingbird Lane is the esteemed Golden Pearl for 4th Quarter 2023. Diana has won this award for her hard work and dedication. She began working at Shucks on the Counter 13 years ago when she was just 17 years old. Her journey through the years at Shucks from Counter to Shift Manager to becoming a Full-Time Manager five years ago has a great backstory. Diana was born and raised in Dallas and she enjoys spending time with her son, daughter, Mom, and sister watching Netflix, or having family lunches. She also enjoys getting mani/pedis and brunching with girlfriends. Fun Fact: She is a big Grey’s Anatomy fan! Diana is also a makeup artist extraordinaire. Just look at those gorgeous eyes. Her “Go-To” favorite at Shucks is Crawfish – obviously! and she also likes the Spicy Garlic Tenders (a secret menu item). Diana told us what she enjoys most about her job is building bonds with her team. Many have been like her family for over 13 years. Her Father, Pepe worked for Shucks for about 20 years before her, and her Grandfather, Rubin worked with our Founder, Bob back in the 1980s. Diana is genuine Shucks family and has been since she was a toddler. We’re thankful her dad encouraged her to work at Shucks when she was a teenager. It’s in her DNA, and he knew that! Diana is the ultimate supportive, team player and we love that she feels this is her second home, and family.
