?? Update: EO 14026 Rescinded ??? On March 14, 2025, President Trump revoked Executive Order 14026, which had increased the minimum wage for federal contractors. This change means that service and construction contractors are no longer required to follow the higher wage rates set by EO 14026 and can revert to the wage determination rates under their contracts. EO 14026 had raised the minimum wage annually based on the consumer price index, most recently to $17.75 per hour as of January 1, 2025. However, Trump's new order does not revoke EO 13658, issued by President Obama, which sets a lower minimum wage of $13.30 per hour. Contractors need to review their contracts to determine which EO applies to them. The revocation of EO 14026 raises questions about how agencies will handle outstanding price adjustment requests. Contractors must decide whether to continue paying the higher wage or revert to the lower wage determination rate, considering their ability to receive or maintain price adjustments.
