2 days ago, the world celebrated International Women’s Day. Events, hashtags trending videos, speeches, panels, marches, media attention, articles, data, hope, frustrations. And today? Business as usual. But for us, Women’s Day is kind of every day. The annual spotlight on gender equality is crucial—it reminds those who don’t think about these issues daily that women’s rights are not a niche concern; they’re everybody’s problem. But systemic issues don’t get solved in a day, or by the people most affected by them alone. Change requires allies, real commitment, and action beyond performative gestures. That’s why we want to deepen our collaboration with allies across industries and geographies. We’re in the early stages of creating a foundation to complement The Next Women’s work with female entrepreneurs. The foundation will be an independent force, giving us a stronger voice to advocate for women’s rights on a broader scale. But while we lay the groundwork for this next chapter, there are urgent issues that cannot wait. One of those issues is the situation in Afghanistan. Since the return of the Taliban, women and girls in Afghanistan have lost every basic human right—education, work, freedom of movement, art, their voices. They are being erased. Yet in the face of extreme oppression, Afghan women continue to fight, organize, and teach. Through our network, we recently connected with a group of women running a school for girls in Afghanistan. Their work is courageous, and it’s also dangerous. Publicizing their efforts comes with real risks, which is why details must remain limited. But one thing is clear: they need funding to continue their mission. So we decided not to wait for the foundation to be fully established. We launched a fundraising during our most recent event and we are officially launching the campaign now, with a goal of raising €10,000 to support this school. We’re asking for donations—not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary. If each of our 20,000+ community members contributes just €10, we’ll hit our goal in no time. This is a new kind of content for The Next Women, but it’s also a natural extension of what we stand for. Women entrepreneurs are women first—human beings who deserve safety, dignity, and the right to shape their own futures. If you believe in that, join us. Donate, share, and let’s prove that solidarity isn’t just a one-day affair. Link in comments: Let’s do this together. Thank you. #TheNextWomen #WomenForWomen #Afghanistan #TakeAction

We launched a speed-dating business expansion test—and filled it in hours. This year we’re going to test practical, effective, and worth-your-time activities that can move your business. And we are starting with international expansion support. Here is how it works: A speed-dating session with an expert—short, sharp, and packed with real strategies for business expansion. We start with France, partnering with émilie Samson, a business development expert we personally know to be brilliant. We didn’t even announce it publicly. We quietly shared it with our newsletter subscribers first, and it filled up instantly. Why this way? ?? Because your network beats endless planning. Having a roadmap is great, but real conversations with real experts make the difference between guessing and growing. ?? Because expansion isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every founder has different challenges—so we bring in the right people to answer your questions. ?? So here’s your next move: If you’re not already on our newsletter, sign up now—because that’s where we’re rolling out new experiments, real access, and exclusive offers first. (link in the comments) And a HUGE thank you to émilie Samson for sharing her expertise and time. We’ll be watching how this plays out—and we might just do more. Know anyone with a market or industry expertise? Link us up! Tag them in the comments. ???

??????????-?????????? ???????????????? ?????? ?? ???????????? ?????? Startups Founded or Cofounded by Women Garner Less in Investments but Generate More Revenue, shows BCG In a review of five years of investment and revenue data, the gender-focused analysis showed a clear funding gap ? Investments in companies founded or cofounded by women averaged $935,000, which is less than half the average $2.1 million invested in companies founded by male entrepreneurs. ? Despite this disparity, startups founded and cofounded by women actually performed better over time, generating 10% more in cumulative revenue over a five-year period: $730,000 compared with $662,000. ?? Freedom Through Finance: Empowering Women Together ??? Last night, Claire had the pleasure of attending the official relaunch of The Next Women, now under the inspiring leadership of Dorothy Seguy. It was an evening filled with powerful conversations, shared ambitions, and a renewed commitment to advancing financial independence for women. The Next Women has always been a champion for female entrepreneurs, and with this new chapter, the mission is clearer than ever: more women at the decision-making table, more financial empowerment and more access to funding. Because when women thrive financially, they create ripples of impact far beyond themselves. We heard from Farshida Zafar, who spoke candidly about the realities of being a woman in entrepreneurship, and Devika Partiman from Stem op een Vrouw, who reminded us why representation in leadership is non-negotiable. And of course, no celebration is complete without great drinks — thanks to Van Sha Spirits (Sharan Bal) and ALMA Limoncello (Marie-Christien van Wensen) for keeping the glasses full! ?? At Joanna Invests, we deeply believe in the power of financial education and access, which is why we’re so excited about what’s ahead. We’re looking forward to partnering with The Next Women to continue empowering female founders — stay tuned for more! #TheNextWomen #WomenInBusiness #FinancialFreedom #WomenInvesting #Entrepreneurship #FundingWomen #girlsjustwannahavefunds #investinwomen

????????Calling All Former Members: Let’s Reconnect. A personal message from Dorothy Seguy. Happy Monday, everyone! I hope this week brings some sunshine—if it’s visible where you are. Today, I have an important and long-overdue shout-out to make. This one goes to all the old members of our community—particularly, those who once purchased a membership and supported us, even during a time when the network went quiet. To all of you: we see you, we value you, and we’re committed to making this right. As someone who deeply values customer experience and delivering true value for money, I want to acknowledge that some of you may feel like you never got to fully benefit from your membership. If that’s you, I’d love to reconnect and have a conversation. We’re working hard to rebuild and grow this community, and your voice and presence mean so much. If you were part of our network in the past, here’s what I’d love for you to do: ? Reach out directly to me so we can reconnect. Send me a DM or an email. ? Let’s discuss how we can make things right and offer something meaningful to bring you back into the fold. We don’t have an easy way to track down everyone, so I’m asking you to reach out to me. If this resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. This community is back and growing, and we’d love for you to continue your journey with us. Let’s move forward—together. #Community #Networking #Entrepreneurship Laurie Lancee Lieke van der Veen - Danenberg
