    I cannot even begin to put into words how excited and honored I am to be attending the first Olympic Games with gender parity and providing MySideKick - Team USA to all 650 athletes representing the United States in Paris. Half of the over 10,000 athletes participating are women. ?? There will be 329 medal events, 152 of which will be for women, and 20 will be mixed gender. In addition, 28 of the 32 sports will be fully gender-balanced. ?? The International Olympic Committee – IOC has asked that for the Opening Ceremonies each nation have at least one female and one male athlete as the flag bearer. ?? Another first: the final Olympic event will be the women’s marathon instead of the traditional men’s marathon. ?? The IOC will schedule equal prime time coverage of men's and women's events. ?? Ratings and attendance for women’s sports have been surging, resulting in increases in media rights fees and valuations. ?? In March, WPP’s GroupM, one of the largest global media buying companies, announced a commitment to double the amount of ad spend allocated to women’s sports. GroupM's clients include Ally, Coinbase, Discover, Google, Mars, Nationwide, Unilever, and NBCU’s Universal Pictures. ?? For the Paris Games, there are reports NBCU could garner over $1.4B in ad dollars, with an estimated $400M coming from first-time Olympic marketers, including women’s sports. Numerous executives see the huge marketing opportunity in targeting women and girls during the Paris Olympics and beyond. ?? Another first: Deloitte forecasts that in 2024, revenue generated by women’s elite sports will exceed $1B, totaling $1.28B. This is projected to be at least 300% higher than in 2021.
