This week at the #TPM25 Conference in Long Beach, California, we gathered for an insightful Members’ Meeting, bringing together industry leaders to explore how temperature standards impact frozen food logistics. During our meeting, we discussed several key topics, including: ??Shawn Dohring from A.P. Moller - Maersk highlighting reefer transport challenges and upcoming trials ??Ariette Matser from Wageningen University & Research presenting their Frosteq project ??Sandy Brand from Nomad Foods emphasising the need for scientific data to ensure food safety at adjusted temperatures ??Gerwin Beukhof from Aviko sharing their sustainability commitments and long-term investments in reducing carbon emissions As more companies join the coalition, interest continues to grow in how even small temperature adjustments can drive significant financial and environmental savings. By working together and sharing real-world data, we’re building the foundation for a more energy-efficient and sustainable cold chain. A big thank you to all our members for their commitment to driving this movement forward! JOC.com #ColdChain #Innovation #SustainableSupplyChain #MoveToMinus15
关于我们
The global cold chain moves millions of tonnes of frozen food every year at a temperature of -18°C. That international standard temperature was established almost a century ago, but logistics and technology have evolved significantly in the decades since. The Move to -15°C is a coalition of industry partners aiming to change the temperature that frozen food is stored and transported at. Launched at COP28, our industry-wide coalition intends to explore the feasibility of a move to -15°C. Underpinned by independent academic research, our aim is to collaborate with industry to redefine frozen food temperature standards to cut greenhouse gases and lower supply chain costs – a small change that can make a big impact. Backed by leading names across global shipping, logistics and trade, our aim is to expand our growing network of worldwide coalition members to include industry representatives across every stage of the frozen food supply chain – from food producers to technology partners and beyond.

We're happy to welcome Aviko as a new member of #MovetoMinus15! We look forward to seeing you and our other members at the Members' Meeting at #TPM25 next week.
? Samen maken we het verschil! A small shift that, with all companies worldwide, can have a very big impact:?????: ? 17.7 million tonnes of CO? reduction per year, equivalent to the emissions of 3.8 million cars ? 5 to 7% lower energy consumption across the chain ? Reduced costs, all while maintaining food safety ? By participating in this global coalition, we contribute to a more sustainable food chain. Together, we work on innovative solutions that save energy and reduce the impact on the climate. ? Anouk Wentink, Sustainability Manager at Aviko: "As part of our strategy, we want to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions in the chain before 2030. Collaboration is crucial in this and the Move 2 minus 15 initiative aligns well with our targets for CO2 savings in the chain.” ? Together we make a change! As?COP29 discussions continue in Baku, we’ve been casting our minds back to the beginnings of the Move to -15°C Coalition. Since launch at COP28?a year ago, we’ve been on a mission?to cut carbon emissions in the frozen food supply chain by simply lowering storage temperatures from -18°C to -15°C; a modest change with a significant impact. The coalition has more than tripled in size in just a year. We are thrilled to welcome Iceland Foods, Emirates, and Emergent Cold LatAm as new members, alongside other industry leaders like Ndustrial, project44, Martico The Compleat Food Group, and Sunswap. These organisations?join a growing global network that already includes Copeland, Nomad Foods, Morrisons, A.P. Moller - Maersk, Kuehne+Nagel, and AJC International. During our recent gathering at SIAL 2024, members shared insights about the dynamics of the current cold chain and exchanged ideas for how to achieve the direct emissions savings that our research shows is possible.?Looking forward, we are committed to bringing even more key supply chain players – from food producers to retailers?- together to collectively drive the change we need.
