  • Join Dr. Tim Conway and special guest Michelle Yepez on this week’s episode of the Dyslexia Success Stories! podcast tomorrow at 12 PM Eastern Time for an eye-opening discussion about the fight for real dyslexia remediation. If your child has ever been denied the help they desperately need, you’re not alone. Like the William A. case, Michelle’s son was told that remediation was impossible for a 16 year old and that accommodations were the only option. But Michelle refused to accept that verdict. After years of heartbreak, many failed interventions, and legal battles, she finally found a real solution—the NOW! Program?, which took her son from being nearly illiterate in high school to studying aviation at a university. This episode also delves into the landmark William A. v. Clarksville-Montgomery County School System decision, which reinforced that IEPs must focus on more than just accommodations—they must provide real intervention to address foundational reading skills. The ruling ordered 888 hours of compensatory dyslexia tutoring after the court found that the school had failed to provide meaningful educational progress. Michelle’s own battle for her son echoes this case, revealing the harsh reality of navigating the failed special education system and the life-changing impact of finding the right intervention. What happens when a school system fails to teach a child to read? How can parents fight for real remediation instead of just accommodations? And what made the NOW! Program? the successful remediation Michelle’s son desperately needed and that she knew in her heart and mind had to be possible for an intelligent, hard working and otherwise very capable young boy? Tune in tomorrow at 12 PM Eastern Time for this powerful and informative episode—one that every parent and educator needs to hear! This week on the Dyslexia Success Stories! podcast, we welcome a very special guest—Chloe Conway, daughter of Dr. Tim Conway. Chloe’s journey from struggling reader to academic achiever is a testament to the power of early, evidence-based intervention. As a young child, Chloe faced significant reading challenges. At the end of her first-grade year, during the final parent-teacher meeting—and despite no prior concerns raised by her teacher—her school informed her parents that "Chloe is not ready for second grade. Her reading skills haven’t ‘clicked’ yet. For some kids, reading just ‘clicks’ later in age. She needs to repeat 1st grade." This revelation came as a surprise to her parents, both of whom were experts in dyslexia remediation. Despite Dr. Conway’s extensive expertise as a neuropsychologist with peer-reviewed research in dyslexia prevention and intervention, and Chloe’s mother’s experience as an instructor at a specialized dyslexia clinic, neither of them initially recognized the warning signs in their own daughter. Rather than accepting retention as the solution, Chloe’s parents made a well-informed decision—she and her older brother, Sheridan, would spend the summer in an intensive program at The Morris Center. There, Chloe underwent evidence-based interventions, including an early version of the NOW! Foundations for Speech, Language, Reading & Spelling? program, paired with Occupational Therapy incorporating Sensory Integration Therapy. The results? Nothing short of remarkable. Not only did Chloe return to school reading at or above grade level, but her success also reshaped the way her teachers and school administration viewed dyslexia intervention. This pivotal moment set Chloe on an accelerated academic path, leading her to graduate with an Associate’s Degree before finishing high school and later earning her Bachelor’s in Science from the University of North Florida. Now, in 2024, Chloe has reached another major milestone—earning her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences! As she prepares for her board certification, she is bringing her personal experience and expertise full circle by returning to The Morris Center, where her journey began. How did two parents with deep expertise in dyslexia intervention overlook early warning signs in their own child? What was it like growing up with a dyslexia expert as a father? How did Chloe go from being told she needed to repeat first grade to reading above her grade level in just one summer? How did early intervention shape her confidence? And what does Chloe hope to bring to the next generation of children facing the same struggles she once did? Tune in this Friday at 12 PM Eastern Time for an incredible episode as Chloe shares her inspiring journey! #Dyslexia #DyslexiaSuccess #DyslexiaScience #DyslexicSuccess #DyslexiaSuccessStory #DyslexiaSuccessStories #dylsexicthinking #madebydyslexia

Join us at a special time tomorrow, 11:45 AM Eastern, for this week's episode of the "Dyslexia Success Stories!' podcast. This week, we’ll share the incredible journey of two remarkable brothers both with Severe Dyslexia. Today, these brothers are thriving in The NOW! Foundations for Speech, Language, Reading, and Spelling? program and both improved their reading skills by over 5 grade levels. Before beginning online, evidence-based Dyslexia tutoring with the NOW! Programs company, both boys faced significant learning challenges, despite years of speech, ABA, and occupational therapy services. The older brother completed a neuropsychological evaluation prior to NOW! Programs, while the younger brother completed one after starting the NOW! Program. Before starting their online sessions, both boys read below the 1st grade level - they struggled & read K and 1st grade books, around 80-90% accurate and did not know all of their sounds and letters. Fast forward to today, and now their mom reports that her boys’ transformation is astonishing. Both boys are enrolled in a private school environment, reading well above their grade levels. Their mom describes their progress as "incredible," highlighting their ability to process how to read, decode, and spell words accurately—moving far beyond mere memorization. Witnessing their growth has been nothing short of life-changing!, says their mom. During the podcast, we’ll dive into how The NOW! Program helps bridge the gap for students with foundational skill deficits. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly about their journey and how your child could benefit from the same life-changing approach! Tune in, get inspired, and join the conversation. Join us today at NOON, 12PM ET, on the Dyslexia Success Stories! podcast as we explore the Betzmer family's inspiring journey through the challenges of dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and more. From early signs of struggle in preschool to years of trial and error with interventions, their story is one of determination, resilience, and eventual triumph with the NOW! Programs?. Discover how the Betzmers navigated a landscape of public school programs, specialized interventions, and homeschooling, all while advocating tirelessly for their daughter. Despite setbacks and so many ineffective solutions, they found hope and life-changing results with the evidence-based NOW! Programs? and Sensory Integration Occupational Therapy at The Morris Center. Many parents are surprised to find out that some aspects of reading and spelling will more likely be fully developed IF their child completes a course of specialized Sensory Integration OT in an intensive and highly structured, developmental series of training - then visual memory of sight words are more likely to improve and visual-memory/visual-motor skills are more likely to empower spelling of irregular words. Join us to learn more about the Sensory Pyramid connection to empowering "orthographic memory" - needed for better reading and spelling of sight words, after phonological awareness has been fully empowered, too. We'll share the Sensory Pyramid diagram to help explain this developmental system that can only be fully empowered by expertly trained OT's who are Sensory Integration certified and mentored by senior OTs too. We’ll dive into: The emotional and academic toll of delayed progress and misdiagnoses. The transformational impact of gaining three years of reading in just several months of NOW! Foundations for Speech, Language, Reading and Spelling? The powerful breakthroughs made possible through The Morris Center clinics' sensory integration trained and highly skilled occupational therapist, empowering visual perception, visual memory, visual recognition (components lumped into the term Orthographic Memory), fine motor skills, visual + fine motor skills and other related sensory-motor regulation & modulation challenges. Hear firsthand how the Betzmer family's journey has not only changed their daughter’s academic trajectory, but also restored her confidence, opened doors for college, and reignited her love for learning. Journey's like this help families know to expect more and find more empowering services, so their child can truly unlock their full learning potential and pursue their own academic, interpersonal and occupational goals. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or someone seeking to understand the complexities of learning challenges, like dyslexia, dysgraphia, sensory processing disorder and more, this episode is filled with insights, encouragement, and revelations about just how much we can empower new strengths, skills and abilities.
