If you're a #SaaS leader, one of the No. 1 problems you face in PLG or SLG is "adoption". It all starts with usage. To drive usage, you must take users through training to use the product. Drive a user to use the product, then you get them to see its value. See value, they begin clicking and using, and they hit the paywall. Get them to hit the paywalls, then you get them to purchase. We have been so immature in our data analysis here Vengreso | The Creators of FlyMSG.io as we figured out how to turn into a SaaS company. I asked our product leader about the onboarding process and inquired, "How many users complete our 9-step onboarding in 6 minutes?" Answer was 20%... YIKES!!! But we allowed them to skip out of onboarding after page 2. They then landed on the dashboard (aka FlyBoard) and started at a screen! Absolutely no prompts, no WalkMe guidance, nothing at all! No wonder why users weren't hitting the paywall. We started by improving the FlyMSG.ai onboarding process to make it clearer, more interactive, and easier to understand how to use the application. To address the 80% of users who missed the final step of the onboarding process, we introduced a secondary solution: the WalkMe feature integrated directly into the application. In 45 days, we moved the needle by 12 percentage points, and now only 68% have not completed full onboarding level 1. But wait, there is more! Santiago S. Fernández, our product leader, created a backup for those who miss level 1 onboarding and implemented level 2. That is the WALKMe feature!
