The MBA Impact Investing Network & Training (MIINT) is an experiential lab designed to give students at business and graduate schools a hands-on education in impact investing. The Turner MIINT aims to: Train the next generation of impact investors to “think like an impact investor” providing them with the opportunity to source, diligence, and present early stage impact investment ideas to an expert judging committee. Build meaningful links between innovative mission-driven companies and leading business and graduate schools. Create a vibrant network of students and practitioners active in the impact investing field.

Juan’s team came in second place overall at the global #MIINT finals when he was a student at The Wharton School and member of Wharton Impact Investing Partners. Last month, graduate student teams from around the globe traveled to The Wharton School to present their diligence in hopes of securing up to $100K in investments into high-impact ventures in the 13th annual?Turner MBA Impact Investing Network & Training (MIINT)?competition. The Turner MIINT (MBA Impact Investing Network & Training), which gives hands-on education in impact investing for business and graduate school students, is a collaboration between?BRIDGES IMPACT FOUNDATION?and the?ESG Initiative at the Wharton School. The winner of this year’s $50,000 Moelis Family Prize for best impact investment opportunity was awarded to the team from London Business School: Shahvir Pooniwala, Zeib K., and Yen Tran Hai. The team presented a company called?Afterwind—a Norwegian-based company that exists to preserve natural resources for future generations by reprocessing end-of-life wind turbines into virgin-grade materials. “My time at Wharton not only provided me with unforgettable memories but also lasting friendships with individuals from across the globe. It was inspiring to engage with fellow students, investors, and alumni, all passionate about impact," shared?Shahvir Pooniwala, member of the prize-winning team. There were 151 presenting students from top graduate schools in 9 different countries at this year's event. On day one, 32 teams presented anonymously and 6 were selected to advance to the finals on day two. This year's finalists were: University of Vermont Grossman School of Business, Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, INSEAD, New York University, Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and London Business School. This was the first year as a finalist for Scheller and second time as a finalist for Grossman who are both relatively new additions to the #TurnerMIINT program. #impactinvesting The ESG Initiative at the Wharton School & BRIDGES IMPACT FOUNDATION/Bridges Fund Management Ltd.

One of our favorite awards to present each year is the winner of Best Due Diligence ?? . This award goes to the student team who regardless of an invest or do not invest recommendation completed solid due diligence that stood out to semi-final and final judges. The winner of this year's Best Due Diligence is the team from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management!
