Building a thriving community of recovered alcoholics and their families – one individual at a time.

关于我们

The Magdalen House is a nonprofit organization helping individuals with alcoholism achieve sobriety and sustain recovery at no cost and based on 12-Step spiritual principles. Founded in Dallas in 1987, The Magdalen House remains the only agency in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to offer comprehensive recovery services – without insurance or state funding – 100% free of charge. We are committed to helping individuals with alcoholism achieve long-term, sustainable recovery through spiritually based, comprehensive programming. We present the simple problem of alcoholism, along with a practical application of the solution. ? First Step program: A two-week residential program for an alcoholic woman who wants to stop drinking but cannot. They are provided with the education and resources to establish sobriety and build a foundation of recovery in a safe and supportive environment. ? Next Step program: A three-phase (approx. three-month), non-residential program for an alcoholic at any stage of recovery. They are provided with support and structure to sustain sobriety while growing in their recovery from alcoholism. ? Meetings and Fellowship: Solution-focused classes, meetings, and workshops are provided seven days a week, 365 days a year. These are open to any alcoholic, at any stage of recovery. We also have dedicated volunteers who provide Family Support to families and loved ones of alcoholics and addicts. ? Resources and Education: Building partnerships in our community to connect alcoholics and their families to resources that include sober living, counseling, and more while educating our community on alcoholism. After three decades, The Magdalen House continues to play a vital role in changing the lives of thousands of alcoholic women and their families. The Magdalen House is wholly privately funded – accepting no government monies – with a vision to build a thriving community of recovered women and their families, one woman at a time.

"One of the most inspiring experiences is when I meet a new client in the house, see her two weeks later, with a sparkle in her eye as a next step client, then four weeks later she is shadowing to learn to chair meetings. It’s a true miracle to watch the journey of recovery happen up-close, it’s a spiritual experience for sure," says Melissa. ?
