Microsoft Office apps—like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—are set to save files to Microsoft OneDrive by default. This default setting is designed to promote the company’s cloud storage, but it may not suit everyone’s preferences or workflow. There's an easy workaround for those who prefer keeping their files on their Mac or using a different cloud storage provider. Look for the?On My Mac?button in the Save dialog box when saving a file. Clicking it will switch you to a standard macOS Save dialog, where you can choose any available local or networked storage option. While there’s no way to make On My Mac the default location permanently, Office will remember your last-used save location and default to it the next time you save a file. That said, it’s worth noting that Microsoft Office updates occasionally revert the default Save dialog to OneDrive. If you notice this happening, select On My Mac again to restore your preferred workflow. This minor adjustment ensures you stay in control of where your files are stored.

Boost Productivity with Apple’s Text Replacement: Apple’s text replacement feature is a powerful tool for saving time and reducing errors. Create shortcuts, like “eml” for your email address, and use them seamlessly across your Mac, iPhone, and iPad with iCloud syncing.
