Building stronger communities by connecting nonprofits to the resources they need and helping businesses make a lasting impact

One of the most exciting things about Lighthouse is seeing nonprofit collaboration in action. The Brave Women’s Community Center and SafeHouse Denver, Inc. connected through our platform, and now they’re teaming up to host an event this Saturday. This is exactly why we built Lighthouse—to break down silos and make it easier for nonprofits to find each other, share resources, and work together to better serve the community. When organizations collaborate, everyone benefits. If you’re in Denver, don’t miss Stories of Resilience: A Benefit for SafeHouse Denver—an evening of powerful storytelling and community impact. It’s a great chance to support an important cause and see firsthand how collaboration strengthens our community. ?? Today was an amazing day!!! I have two change-drivers behind two organizations that made a huge impact on my day and who will have a great impact on those whom I serve in the community. First, thank you to Mackenzie Langley Founder/CEO of Lighthouse for an amazing platform that allows local non-profits to connect on events, resources, collaborations, etc. without which this would not have been possible today. Second, through The Local Lighthouse I was able to connect with EmilyJane Zahreddine, MPA, MA Founder of GraceFull Home? who had an astonishing amount of mainly winter clothing that I was able to procure for our folx. GraceFull Home is a non-profit furniture bank that serves social service providers across the Denver Front Range (yes they take donations, your furniture!!!). Please check their website for more information, I highly recommend it. I'm very glad and thankful that I have the opportunity to learn about new resources that are available for the community at-large. I'm so very glad that I get the opportunity to share this with you all. I'm all about trying to decrease barriers to information, present it in a quick digestible form, and letting people dive in. We here in Prevention at DCHN are going to continue to work to bridge the gap in the needs, services, and care that our community members deserve. #BuildingBridgesTogether (Compassion is to Focus on the message and not how it's delivered)

Building stronger communities by connecting nonprofits to the resources they need and helping businesses make a lasting impact

As we approach the end of the year, it’s the perfect time for businesses to reflect on how they can give back to their communities. That’s why I'm so excited to share that Lighthouse is expanding to help local businesses rehome surplus resources by connecting them directly with local nonprofits. Here’s how it works: - We work with businesses to identify surplus resources—such as office furniture, tech equipment, or other assets—and match them with local nonprofits that need them. - It’s a win-win: Businesses make a meaningful impact in their community and receive a tax benefit for their good deed. In our pilot program, we collaborated with a local business to reallocate $12,000 worth of resources, providing essential items to a Denver-Metro nonprofit and offering the business valuable tax advantages. If you know a business with surplus resources—or think your organization could benefit from this service—please share this post or learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gKD5nZs5 With the year coming to a close, it’s the perfect time for businesses to make an impact and start 2025 on the right foot! #TogetherWeCanBuildStrongerCommunities #GiveBack #CommunityImpact

Our screening of UnCharitable earlier this month brought together over 50 thoughtful changemakers from nonprofits, for-profits, government, and impact investing for an inspiring night of conversation and connection. ?? ?? The film encouraged us to challenge assumptions, embrace diverse perspectives, and get curious about what’s next for the future of impact work. The energy in the room was electric, and the conversations that followed felt like a spark—igniting new possibilities and reminding us just how transformative collaboration can be. As we carry this cross-sector momentum into the new year, we’re more energized than ever to drive bold ideas forward and continue building bridges that amplify impact across industries. ?? A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us and made the event such a meaningful success. Special gratitude to RedLine Contemporary Art Center for the beautiful venue and to Matt Hess and Charity Von Guinness for being incredible thought partners who helped bring this evening to life. ?? What possibilities for cross-sector collaboration excite you the most? Let’s keep the conversation going! ?? #UnCharitable #LighthouseDenver #NonprofitInnovation #Collaboration #FutureOfImpact

Building stronger communities by connecting nonprofits to the resources they need and helping businesses make a lasting impact

It’s been a big week, and if it’s shown us at Lighthouse anything, it’s that investing in local communities is essential—and it’s time to get innovative. Next week, we’re bringing together a dynamic group of leaders from nonprofits, for-profits, and policy to explore new approaches to impact work and community resilience. This is an open, forward-thinking space designed for meaningful cross-sector connections. We have a few spots left—if you’re ready to be part of this conversation, we’d love to have you join us! https://lnkd.in/gr4_VMPJ #TogetherWeCanBuildStrongerCommunities

?? Calling all innovators, change makers, and community leaders in Denver! ?? On November 11th, we’re bringing together nonprofits, foundations, impact investors, policymakers, for-profit leaders, and more at RedLine Contemporary Art Center for a night of dialogue and discovery as we reimagine the future of giving and social impact. We’ll kick off with a screening of UnCharitable, a powerful documentary that challenges the traditional ways of philanthropy and asks how we can do better. After the film, we’ll dive into collaborative discussions, getting curious and opening the conversation about how we can rethink philanthropy to build stronger communities across the Denver metro area. This is a unique opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives, share ideas, and begin shaping a future where social impact is both innovative and sustainable.
