It is an honor to watch our grantees' dreams turn into realities! In late September, Meals on Wheels Rowan celebrated the grand opening of their newly renovated offices in Salisbury that they moved into over the summer. ??? Volunteers will pick up meals here to deliver to those in need in the community. Our foundation contributed to the Forever Home Fund to help finance this project as a part of our Human Services pillar. The mission of Meals on Wheels Rowan is to deliver food and nutritious meals to Rowan County seniors who have difficulty leaving their homes or are challenged to prepare their meals. Volunteers and staff build relationships, provide referrals and work to mitigate social isolation. Tomorrow, October 7th, marks one year since communities throughout Israel were brutally attacked by Hamas terrorists. As we reflect on the devastation endured, we honor the memories of the 1,200 murdered on that day. We are painfully reminded of the 254 individuals who were kidnapped and taken hostage, pray for the release of the 101 still being held hostage and grieve those who were killed. Our partners throughout the Carolinas will be holding events to remember the victims of the tragic day:?https://lnkd.in/ewUM3beS. For the Jewish community, the anniversary of Oct 7 falls during the High Holidays,?and our partners at One Table have put together a guide with ways to utilize the holidays to reflect, engage in discussion and process:?https://lnkd.in/ehGf_647?
