Meet our special guest from The Laborhood Podcast, Desmaine “Des” Jackson! She joined us for S3E3 as we discussed the lows and highs that can arise postpartum. Desmaine Lewis Jackson, RNC-INPT-OB is an in-clinic nurse at the Guilford County Public Health Department, where she works with the community’s mothers, giving quality prenatal care, as well as any family planning services needed. She has worked with new in clinic nurses and created a SOP for her clinic for incoming employees to understand the flow of her clinic. With over 7 years of in-patient labor and delivery experience, she uses her skills to inform and prepare future mothers for their labor and delivery hospital stays. She holds an associate’s degree in nursing from Virginia Highlands Community College and a certification in in-patient Obstetrical Nursing. Outside of work, Desmaine enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and planning events.
