Meet Jody Lawson! Jody has been a steady rock for the past 12 years at the Apple Valley branch where she started as a teller. To her, the most rewarding thing about her work is just getting to know her customers and building genuine relationships with them. Away from work, many things contribute to what she would describe as a rewarding life. One of those being her family, made up of her husband of 36 years, 2 sons, a step-son, a step-daughter, 4 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. Love abounds, but one thing they will never let Jody live down is the pecan pie she made one Thanksgiving. (A little tip: never add rum flavoring ??) This active family provides plenty of opportunity for entertainment, one of those being attending grandkids’ celebrations and extra-curricular activities. Other things bringing enjoyment are studying the scriptures and listening to great theologians, learning awesome truths, then applying them to her life. Other rewarding activities are supporting the local charity Knox Starting Point, knowing the difference they make in people’s lives, along with frequenting local independent grocers, Friendly Meadows, and Don Leo’s.?? Jody does not really have a bucket list of things she would like to do. She kind of agrees with Heidi Gindlesberger that living off grid somewhere is appealing, but not a chance her husband would go along with that, so not going to happen! One thing she does not want to happen is living out her last days in a nursing home.?? A quote she has heard comedian Brad Stein say that struck a chord is: “If you don’t have anything worth dying for, you don’t have anything worth living for.” Another quote giving her strength and hope is from the Lord, found in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace Is sufficient for you, My power is perfected in weakness.” Jody, the rewards in your life clearly give you motivation for passing on a little joy, and we are so glad you are part of Killbuck Savings Bank, doing just that!
