I was at this group's office recently at?The Hub Powered by PNC. Who are they? This is?DataYard. They are a Force for Good. They use our?Coffee With Champions?program every week. Some of you may remember them by their original name, Donet, which was started in 1995 by?David Mezera?(pictured in back) and some partners. The company was started as a dial-up ISP to a mostly residential user base. In 1999, they opened Dayton's first data center. In 2011, they won the contract to architect and host the Ohio Lottery in their cloud environment, which led to hosting numerous major lotteries, including the Mega Millions, Washington, and New Hampshire lotteries. In 2012, they rebranded as "DataYard" In 2019, DataYard won the contract to design and build out the technology infrastructure for the Arcade Innovation Hub (AIH) in Dayton. In 2023, they moved their administrative offices to the Arcade Innovation Hub. ?? In November of 2024, I had the opportunity to sit in on one of their?Coffee With Champions?workshops. The topic was on Forgiveness. There were 9 of us in the conversation, which lasted about an hour. Here's what we did. David Mezera, President & CEO, led the conversation this week. 1?? We went around the room, and all shared a win. This was fun hearing what was going on in each other's world. 2?? They played my 5-minute introduction video on Grudges and Forgiveness 3?? We spent the next 45 minutes snacking on bagels and answering 10 questions about the Best Practices for Forgiveness. You may think the topic would be challenging...but we laughed a lot, and I took many notes. A lot of great ideas were shared. Every single week, they do one workshop as part of our Professional Development Curriculum. It's optional to attend, so not all of their team is always there. You can tell they really are a strong, close-knit group. They were not afraid to disagree with each other but still had a high level of mutual respect. Thanks for letting me sit in,?David Mezera,?Natalie Mezera, and the rest of the team!
