St. Louis County Historical Society has named Nicholas Jensen as the new Executive Director of the organization. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth, Jensen has previously worked as a Program Manager with the Minnesota Historical Society, helping oversee a major exhibit overhaul as well. His work also included the creation and execution of several new events to further increase community engagement, in addition to previous site offerings. “I am excited to undertake this position with SLCHS. I intend to use my museum experience to ensure that both residents and visitors to St. Louis County are able to experience the region’s vital stories in an authentic, engaging way.” In addition, Jensen hopes to increase opportunities for public engagement with the organization through events, and additional educational opportunities for school audiences. Since its inception in 1922, the St. Louis County Historical Society has sought to discover, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history, and prehistory, of St. Louis County as well as the state of Minnesota.
