On Wednesday, I reconnected with an old friend of Vito and mine. It was one of those conversations that makes you stop and think. She’d seen all my posts and updates, and she reached out to see how I was holding up and to understand more about what’s been going on. While it was nice to catch up, she said a few things that have been swirling in my head since. I don’t usually enjoy when people try to analyze me, but she made some points that hit close to home. For the sake of her privacy, I’ll paraphrase in my own words. She told me that my fight for justice, truth, and advocacy in the marijuana industry feels deeply tied to Vito. He didn’t know, but we had plans for him, especially for once IESO was secured by nuEra Cannabis, to help him stay on track and focused on his journey of sobriety through the cultivation work. But when things took a turn, due to circumstances that I believe were driven by corporate interests over people’s well-being, that vision for Vito’s path was no longer possible. She informed me subconsciously I probably believe if it weren’t for the actions that disrupted those plans, there was a chance that Vito might still be here today. It’s a tough thought to sit with—the idea that corporate decisions and greed could indirectly contribute to such a loss. To me, it’s clear that this industry needs change, not just for the sake of business but for the sake of real lives affected by it. Over a month ago, I shared Vito's story as a part of my journey and hinted that l'd be asking for your support in the future. Now, I'm following through on that promise. To honor Vito's legacy and continue the fight he inspired, I encourage you to support his nonprofit, BVL Boxing Solutions. This organization is dedicated to empowering others through community support and opportunities, just as Vito had always planned to do with his brother Joey. Together, we can turn this loss into a force for positive change. Please consider making a donation at BVL Boxing Solutions to help us keep his spirit alive and support those in need. https://lnkd.in/eBRWwqyk Her words were a powerful reminder of why I’m on this path. If you think my pursuit for truth and justice is relentless, maybe it’s because for me, it’s not just about principles—it’s about making sure that no one else has to suffer a loss because of corporate priorities that place profit above people. So I ask, if you were in my shoes, knowing what I know and seeing what I’ve seen, what lengths would you go to? Remember, it takes one voice, one match, or one idea to spark a change. Tune in tomorrow for our first F’nAround podcast, where we aim to be that change for the better. Craft cares, corporate doesn’t. Speak your truth. Due to the success of my posts and the growing awareness of nuEra Cannabis's actions, many have reached out asking me to not only highlight the bad but also spotlight the good, just like we do at 312ALL I love this idea and appreciate everyone who reached out to me and my team. We will be highlighting, after due diligence and verification, dispensaries that refuse to carry nuEra brands or have pulled or plan to pull their brands off the shelves after learning about their actions. We'll also spotlight craft growers who won't sell to them. Our goal is to showcase morally upstanding, ethical, and diversity-inclusive companies. As my audience grows, we realize the need to fine-tune our approach. Thanks to 312ALL and The FuckArounds we will be launching a videotaped podcast for a weekly show. We'll interview artists, discuss music, touch base on CannaConsigliere, make music, listen to music, support craft businesses, just be ourselves, and release all the corporate dirt and information we gather for everyone to hear and share. We're working on the paperwork now, and I'm excited about this new venture. We had planned a TikTok live session, but due to my inability to avoid swearing, that idea went out the window. I tried... I'm not PG, the crayons I ate still live within me. There's a lot to look forward to! We see you, hear you, and can't wait to show you we care. This has been an amazing journey, and we aren't stopping anytime soon! Craft Cares, corporate doesn’t.
