Helping Expats Cultivate Community, Confidence, and Visibility for Career Advancement, Financial Independence and Personal Success | The Expat Woman Founder/ CEO | LinkedIn? Coach for Expats, Executives & Entrepreneurs
Today is my birthday, The Expat Woman's 11th birthday and my 22nd "civil wedding" anniversary. My husband and I tied the knot at San Francisco's City Hall so I could stay on in the country. We had a church wedding six months later with friends and family from far and wide. Thank you to everyone who has sent me a DM to wish me. ( I have LinkedIn birthday notifications on). I hope to respond over the next few days. I launched The Expat Woman on Nov. 21st 2013 in San Francisco. My first business and an idea that was brewing for over 10 years. As I have said before, LinkedIn played a big role in the initial success of the business. To celebrate this milestone I am hosting a virtual birthday celebration and networking party at 9am PST today on Zoom. You are most welcome to join me. Here is the link: https://lnkd.in/g-38WfEv Do you have birthday notifications turned on, on LinkedIn? ---- I'm Nyna Caputi, Founder and CEO of The Expat Woman, and a LinkedIn coach and trainer. Follow or connect with me if you like the kind of content I post. DM me if you want to work with me/hire me.

Immigrant Voice in HR I The Power of Compassion, Hope, Vulnerability is how I International Keynote Speaker I Connector I Mentor I Career Coach I HR Consultant
I was asked to share a few things about Lithuania as part of being featured at the The Expat Woman Community. It's difficult to pick only a few aspects but here’s what I came up with: Language:?Lithuanian ???? is one of the oldest surviving Indo-European languages. When I travel or live abroad, it’s like speaking a secret language—so unique that only Latvians might understand some of it, and only a few million people in the world speak it! Places to see:?it’s small but there are plenty of things to see. LonelyPlanet, the travel guide publisher, has named Lithuania ???? the second-best tourist destination for 2025. Climate:?Summers here are magical, not too hot, or humid, with lakes to swim in and rivers to kayak. And though winters are cold, the snow and frosted trees make it look like a fairytale. Saunas helps us survive cold weather, and there is nothing more refreshing than jumping in a frozen lake after a hot sauna. People:?Foreigners say that it’s harder to meet people but easy to make friendships that last a lifetime, and I couldn’t agree more. Freedom:?Lithuanians truly value and appreciate freedom as we know what it's like not to have it. Happiness:?According to the 2024 World Happiness Report, Lithuania ???? is the happiest country in the world for people under 30. The country ranked 19th overall. Some people will say that Lithuanians don't smile as much and that the economy and salaries are better elsewhere. However, the affordable prices, free education, work-life balance, nature, nightlife, and support from others make up for it. I recently saw a video from Tomas, where he shared how he and many young people now see opportunities that his parents’ generation didn’t have. https://lnkd.in/ek9awuEr ?What makes me happy when I go back? It’s the memories it brings, the changes I see, and the warmth of the people who are always so glad to reconnect with me, even after a long time apart. Standing for Others:? According to our foreign minister, as a small country, we may not always have the ability to change the world, but we have the responsibility to do everything we can to stop it from getting worse. ?Maybe all this sounds like an advertisement, but the truth is that it’s a super special place to me. Sharing photos that were taken by Marius Jovaisa whom I was happy to meet in my recent trip in Lithuania. I’m so grateful that he agreed to let me use them for this post. You can find more here at Nereg?ta Lietuva. ?I am honored to be helping in my own way--by consulting Lithuanian businesses looking to expand abroad and being a mentor with?InnoHub Lithuania.?This week, I had the pleasure of leading a workshop to help the employees of one such company to understand cultural?differences. May Lithuania's progress continue long into the future. Global Lithuanian Leaders Embassy of Lithuania to the USA Gr??tu LT Giedr? Ausra Tadas Giedrius ?? When you move abroad or even if you move to another city, update your location to your new country or city to appear in relevant searches on your LinkedIn profile. Several times I have done a search and reached out to LinkedIn members in a specific city or country because I am traveling there, hosting an event there or want to collaborate and they get back to me saying they have moved and the information is old. All you need to do to change your location is : Go to your LinkedIn profile. Click the pencil?"Edit" icon within your introduction section, in the right hand corner below your LinkedIn banner In the?Edit intro?pop-up window, scroll down to?Country/Region. Select your?Country/Region?from the dropdown. Note: This is a required field. Depending on your selection, you’ll be given the option to add your: City/District Postal code Click "Save" to confirm changes. Do you search for people on LinkedIn based on location? Do you connect with people if they don't have their location listed? ---- I'm Nyna Caputi, Founder and CEO of The Expat Woman, and a LinkedIn coach and trainer.
