On January 14, we successfully conducted one of the validations for the SESAR Joint Undertaking EUREKA SESAR3 Fast Track project at Indra's facilities. This validation, led by our team, focused on eVTOL operations in vertiports and corridors – Prototyping in Laboratory. We were honored to host representatives from Aena, ENAIRE, and INECO onsite, while Unifly joined us online to collaborate on this critical step forward. The exercise focused on testing the interfaces between: U-space Service Provider (Unifly), Centralised Platform and Vertiport Management System (Indra). During the validation, we successfully addressed: ??The strategic phase: flight authorization process ??The pre-tactical phase: flight activation process ??The tactical phase: landing request and flight completion The results were highly satisfactory, and we are grateful to all participants for their invaluable collaboration! Advancing Air Mobility – AIAA SciTech 2025 ???? our Institute for #FlightGuidance was represented by Dr. Bianca Isabella Schuchardt at the AIAA #SciTech Forum 2025 in Orlando, Florida, #USA. The forum serves as a platform for advancing science and technology, with a focus on shaping the future of aerospace innovation. ? Dr. Bianca Isabella Schuchardt delivered an insightful presentation entitled: "How to Integrate #Vertiport Operations into the #Airspace? Her presentation introduced the European research project EUREKA SESAR3 Fast Track project , which is dedicated to developing solutions critical to the implementation of Innovative Air Mobility (#IAM). IAM refers to the safe, secure, and sustainable air mobility of passengers and cargo, integrated into multimodal transportation systems, as defined by the European Aviation Safety Agency. EUREKA is a SESAR Joint Undertaking project and will run from 2023 to 2026. ????? ?? About the #EUREKA project: EUREKA focuses on addressing the operational and regulatory gaps surrounding vertiports, a key enabler for IAM. Key topics of the project include: ? Solutions for arrival and departure operations at vertiports ? Collaborative air traffic management ? Strategies for managing emergencies and operational disruptions ? Optimizing network flow, capacity, and operations ?? Challenges Identified: Infrastructure has been highlighted as a primary challenge for the implementation of #IAM, alongside safety, technology, regulations, communication, and operations. The current U-space regulatory framework does not yet encompass certified #VCA (Vertical Take-off and Landing Capable Vehicle) operations, leaving vertiport stakeholders and operations without dedicated guidance. #EUREKA aims to address these gaps by building on the progress of previous U-space projects and regulatory advancements. ??
