We are thrilled to introduce our amazing guest speakers for the 2nd Annual Dancing for Diapers Gala this Saturday! These inspiring women will share their stories and insights, making this evening even more meaningful: ? Tiffany Scruggs – brings 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector connecting families to community resources. Her positive energy, optimistic, and compassionate approach has proven to be contagious. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Cleveland State University and Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Work from the University of Toledo. Scruggs serves as VP of Community Access and Executive Director of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Community Resource Center. With her long rich history and personal experience of hunger she will continue to embed a “seat at the table approach” leading the organization’s direct services efforts integrating critical community member and feeding partner organizations feedback to execute the organization’s mission and create a national model to address root causes to hunger. ? Councilwoman Meredith Turner – is a graduate of Shaker Heights High School. She is a former educator and coach in the Cleveland Metropolitan and Shaker Heights City School Districts, a U. S. Senate Alumna having served over ten years under United States Senator Sherrod Brown. Councilwoman Turner has always been committed to empowering her community through civic engagement and has been active in electoral politics at federal, state, county, and local levels by supporting candidate and issues-based campaigns as a volunteer. Councilwoman Turner believes that education is a passport to the future. She holds an Associate Degree from Cuyahoga Community College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Chicago State University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University. ? Angela Newman-White– has over 20 years of public health experience focused on addressing inequities in maternal and child health. As Executive Director of First Year Cleveland since January 2023, Angela leads a team whose work is focused on making sure every baby born in Cuyahoga County celebrates their first birthday. First Year Cleveland is committed to addressing racism in healthcare and social determinants of health as systemic drivers of poor outcomes. Rebranded as connector, protector, and activator, FYC builds capacity in community and across sectors to better serve families in Cuyahoga County, centers the lived experiences and wisdom of Black families and communities, and advocates for policy reform rooted in equity and justice.
