Understanding how visitors interact with museums, monuments, and historic sites is key to creating effective design and developing impactful experiences. Our collaborations with Kera Collective ensure we provide the best design for our clients and their visitors.
We love working with The Design Minds, Inc. and are proud to have supported them on several projects over the years: 1?? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ?????? ???????????????????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????????? ?????????????????? ???????????????? We partnered to test designs for new exhibits at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, focusing on helping the National Park Service understand how the public’s changing conception of representative democracy informs their relationship to important historical figures and monuments. https://lnkd.in/eQHD7Chb 2?? ???????????????? ???????????? ???? ????????-???? ???????????????? ???? ?????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? We conducted a visitor survey to support The Design Minds’ interpretive planning work at Arlington National Cemetery. This baseline survey provided critical insights into the visiting population, aiding in both short-term and future planning initiatives. https://lnkd.in/gNJP8K42 3?? ???????????????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ??????????????’?? ?????????????????????? ???????????????????? We led evaluation efforts for the design and development of the Oregon Historical Society’s new permanent exhibition, Experience Oregon. This exhibition presents Oregon as a place of physical and symbolic movement, allowing visitors to learn about the countless people, places, and events that have shaped Oregon into the complex and distinctive state it is today. https://lnkd.in/gB9StWW9 We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with The Design Minds Inc. and look forward to continuing our work together to create meaningful and impactful visitor experiences. #ConceptTesting #BaselineSurvey #MonumentInterpretation?

This week, our team joined colleagues from SmithGroup, Fisher Dachs Associates, Theatre Planning & Design, and other firms to begin work on new renovations at Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Last week, Design Minds attended the grand opening of new exhibits at one of America’s newest national parks— New River Gorge National Park & Preserve! TDM planned and designed exhibits in the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. The displays immerse visitors in the rich natural and cultural history of the park. Visitors learn about the forces that shaped the gorge, the park’s biodiversity, and the economic and environmental impacts of railroads and mining in the region. After you visit the exhibits, enjoy a scenic drive, hike the New River Gorge bridge, or embark on an adventurous whitewater rafting excursion!?

This week our team is celebrating the opening of a new exhibit, 'Power & Light: Russell Lee's Coal Survey.' Russell Lee's captivating photographs documented the poor living and working conditions mining communities faced but also shared their joy and resiliency. The Design Minds oversaw exhibit planning and design and produced original illustrations to help interpret the story. The exhibit opens on March 16th at the National Archives Museum in Washington, DC.

Last week we traveled to William Howard Taft National Historic Site, the birthplace of the nation’s 27th president and 10th Chief Justice. The Design Minds is creating a new interpretive experience inside the historic home. Never before displayed artifacts and documents, and new interactive elements will explore his achievements and legacy. ??For more project updates, subscribe to our newsletter at https://lnkd.in/e7Gbhduy #exhibitdesign #designminds #nationalparks

Last week, The Design Minds attended the installation and opening of the brand-new exhibits at National Park Service's Fort Point National Historic Site. Mechanical interactives and tactile components help enhance accessibility while the design and aesthetic works to elevate the artistic masonry without damaging the site's original brickwork. Located underneath the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, these engaging exhibits interpret the fort as an evolving symbol and artistic achievement, while also sharing the stories of those who found meaning here. Thank you to our partners at Monadnock for developing the AV programs. If you're in the San Francisco area, be sure to stop by our newest project! #museums #exhibitdesign #designminds
