In a historic first, the Dawoodi Bohras of the United States partnered with California Volunteers, Office of the Governor, a model State of California initiative that mobilizes volunteers and philanthropy efforts towards climate action. This partnership will sponsor Community Climate Action Days and support the Climate Action Counts Campaign, aiming to engage one million Californians in service initiatives. Key efforts include planting over 3,000 native trees and plants, supporting urban greening, composting, and food waste reduction. The partnership also seeks to empower communities to collectively combat climate change and promote environmental stewardship. The Global Summit of Religious Leaders for Climate took place in Baku during COP29 Azerbaijan supported by President.az Ilham Aliyev and organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Muslim Council of Elders, Caucasus Muslims' Board , and the UN Environment Programme. Kinana Jamaluddin, leading a delegation from the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, joined over 300 prominent leaders, delivered an address on behalf of worldwide Bohra community leader Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, and engaged in discussions on the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship. #COP #ClimateAction
