Ideology is definitely more important to me than any individual person in my life. Here’s why. My purpose is tied to ideology. Therefore I have spent a considerable amount of time discovering that purpose, asking hard questions, and building a worldview based around truth. Now, most people in your life do not have your best interest in mind. They have THEIR status quo in mind. They want you to conform to their idea of who you are. Most people, including family, are not interested in your growth. Your relationship with them should reflect serious boundaries or be cut off entirely. Cutting someone off because of who they voted for is childish. But cutting someone off because they’re unhealthy, refuse to face the truth, and don’t want you to change is a normal aspect of maturity. What are your thoughts?
