Restoring Communities through compassionate youth programs and coffee businesses. The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non-profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in their future—the youth. We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The only way for our mission to succeed is through the support of the entire community—intentional inter-generational and cross-cultural investment. We accomplish this mission through a sustainable and successful coffee business. The cafés offer a “third place” for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth.

In 2024, at The Coffee Oasis, 573 youth attended?classes?at drop-in centers. Shyanne is one of them! She completed the 6 job training classes to build her confidence and then completed a 100-hour internship with a local restaurant. “It makes me feel like I know what I’m doing when I walk into a business. I know more about what I’m doing when I’m job searching. I used to just fill out a bunch of applications and leave it at that. Now I know it’s more of sending thank you letters for looking at my resume or meeting with me. It makes me more confident personally meeting the hiring manager.” https://lnkd.in/g2a8ZEr6

Jess* has been looking for stable housing for some time. Her mother fell behind on rent due to an injury and she needed to find her own housing. After staying at The Coffee Oasis youth shelter, Jess is working and waiting for an apartment to open at Evergreen Bright Start but still comes to the Drop-In centers for case management and resources. “I just hope to have stable housing and a stable place; a place where I can be happy and be me.” Read about the current numbers for youth homelessness and needs in #KitsapCounty https://lnkd.in/gd6P24W5 (*name changed for privacy)

Last Monday The Point Casino & Hotel invited The Coffee Oasis and three volunteers to its annual Celebration of Service dinner. In the past year, they have collected donations through their game machines and events, resulting in a giant check toward youth shelter and programs! The Point Casino & Hotel has sponsored our gala events in the past and continue to partner with us to support at-risk and homeless youth. Thank you for helping us restore community!
