Join UC Berkeley's Disability Cultural Community Center (DCC Center) and the Center for Independent Living for a Maker's Market that centers disabled artists, makers, craftspeople, and wordsmiths on Thursday, February 6th from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. at UC Berkeley's incredible Multicultural Community Center. If you are a lower-income Berkeley resident with a disability (or an older adult in Berkeley), we may be able to help with safety and accessibility concerns in your home. Examples of minor home modification projects could include grab bars, transfer poles, threshold ramps, changes to doors to make them more accessible, shower benches, and more.   • Join CIL and community artist, activist, and Disability Justice organizer?Maya?Scott-Chung in creating a Disability Justice Community Story Quilt that will be co-created as part of a monthly drop-in social/art space at the Ed Roberts Campus on Wednesday, November 6th, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., as well as virtually.? ? This month’s quiltmaking space?will feature… * prompts for reflection and processing * acupuncture, ear massage, and herbal kits from our Healing Justice practitioners (thank you, and thank you APTP!) * a low-stim space for comfort and decompression * emotional support from our Mental Health 1st?(MH1) partners * a past, present, and future ancestor altar * and, of course, the opportunity to write and make art that could contribute to our Disability Justice Community Story Quilt, or that could be just for you. ?
