This weekend, The Trust’s Director of Programs, Rachel Spector, MSW, presented our collaborative work with Dr. Ruby Natale from the University of Miami Health System’s Mailman Center for Child Development. The presentation, delivered at a conference with over 1,100 international educators and researchers, highlighted the transformative impact of the Jump Start program, funded through our Thrive by 5 portfolio. A staggering 50% of American families struggle to afford diapers. This shocking reality highlights a critical need in our community. Today, I joined Teresa Nu?ez, MHA, fellow Nicklaus Children's Health System colleagues, and my son, a proud member of The Children's Trust of Miami-Dade County Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), to volunteer at the Miami Diaper Bank. Together, we packaged diapers to support low-income families. It's inspiring to see YACCERS, the next generation of leaders, actively engaged in making a difference. By addressing this essential need, we're helping to ensure that every child has access to basic necessities. More than 400 communities nationwide celebrated National Adoption Day this week! Held annually in November, the event raises awareness about children awaiting adoption from foster care and honors the families formed through adoption. The Children’s Trust proudly sponsored an event at Miami Children's Museum, where adoptions were finalized. The Trust’s Associate Director of Community Engagement, Danielle Barreras, joined Eleventh Judicial Circuit judges and Citrus Family Care Network to share inspiring remarks on this wonderful day! #WeAreTCT #NationalAdoptionDay

?? From the Field to the Heart: A Success Story ? At FCC, we’re reminded every day of the transformative power of soccer—and nowhere is that more evident than in our partnership with Advenir Living. Coach Ricky shared how each session has become a highlight for the kids. “You can see it in their smiles—they’re happier, eager to learn, and excited to have a safe space to grow,” he said. Take Noah, for example. He joined the program earlier this year and says he looks forward to every session. That excitement is proof we’re doing our job—providing a space where kids feel supported, encouraged, and ready to thrive. It’s not just the kids who are growing. Our coaches, like Ricky, are also learning and stepping into their roles as mentors, fostering connection and confidence in every player. What makes this journey even more special? The way the community at Advenir Living comes together as one big family—cheering, supporting, and sharing in the joy of the game. Thank you?? Welcome back to another edition of #TrustTuesday! Today, we are featuring the Trust-funded Miami Children's Museum S.M.A.R.T. (Safe Multicultural Artistic Recreational Teaching) Program. This program serves children ages 5 to 12 at multiple locations and fosters a love of learning through play, imagination, creation, and exploration. All activities are teacher-led and stimulate growth while providing a safe and enriching environment. The S.M.A.R.T. Program also offers participants a family membership to the Miami Children's Museum, granting them unlimited access to its diverse programming and activities including live performances, hands-on art projects, and interactive educational exhibits.
