Yet, too often, young people are expected to choose a path without the tools to navigate their evolving interests. That’s where career-connected learning comes in — empowering learners to design their own journey with agency and purpose. At Catalyze, we believe career-connected learning should be available to all students, not just a select few. Since 2021, we’ve supported innovative programs across the U.S. that connect learning to meaningful career pathways for learners ages 11–22. ???The biggest takeaway from our time at SXSW EDU? Careers aren’t linear, and neither is learning. Throughout the week, we engaged in thought-provoking discussions, hands-on workshops, and powerful storytelling — encouraging participants to reflect on their own career paths and contribute to building a future where every learner has the agency to navigate their own way. More than 100 participants explored learner-centered activities in our interactive workshop, and 77 attendees joined our public meet-up, connecting with Catalyze grantees and diving into the latest innovations in career-connected learning.
