Paternity leave is more than just a policy—it’s a transformative opportunity for families. @withthealexanders captured the magic of 3 months of paternity leave in less than 30 seconds, showing just how impactful this time can be. ?? Paternity leave strengthens the bond between father and baby, creating memories that last a lifetime. It also ensures that new mothers aren’t left to navigate the postpartum period alone, providing them with the emotional and physical support they truly need. Iceland's economy is a shining example of how a caring economy fosters growth and well-being. By implementing a 4-day workweek, Iceland has not only improved the quality of life for working parents but also solidified its position as a global leader in gender equality. This innovative model allows fathers to actively participate in family life and gives mothers more opportunities to balance work and leisure. Between 2015 and 2019, trials of the shorter workweek showed that productivity remained stable or even improved in most workplaces—proving that prioritizing care benefits everyone. After breaking down the math, the declining birthrate shouldn’t come as a surprise—it’s glaringly obvious. Childcare costs are sky-high, forcing women to choose between advancing their careers and caring for their children. And let’s not ignore the calculation: Notice how the cost of childcare was only deducted from the woman’s salary, when it takes two to tango? ??

CPR techniques remain the same, regardless of gender or body type, but cultural barriers and misconceptions often stand in the way of timely intervention. One’s body type should not reduce their chances of getting saved. To close this health gap affecting women, we need diversity in CPR training tools. Manikins should reflect a variety of body types, including those with breasts, to ensure trainees are fully prepared to assist anyone in need. This simple change can dismantle biases and improve confidence in performing CPR across all genders. Equally important is spreading awareness about women’s risks of heart-related diseases and ensuring everyone understands that CPR saves lives, no matter the person’s gender. By improving training resources and education, we can create a more inclusive and effective approach to emergency care for women and other genders. #CPRTraining #HealthEquity #HeartHealth #InclusiveCare #DiversityInHealthcare #GenderEquality #TheCareGap

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 1 in 3 women (30%) globally experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, with most cases perpetrated by intimate partners. The World Bank also reports that 38% of femicides are committed by partners, highlighting the alarming extent of this issue. This year, we’ve witnessed heartbreaking cases like the late Ugandan Olympian tragically killed by her boyfriend, a French woman whose husband orchestrated her abuse by over 50 men, a 15-year-old Nigerian girl assaulted by a peer, and a Nigerian university student murdered by a trusted male friend. These incidents emphasize a harsh reality: the threat often comes from trusted individuals, not strangers. For too long, society has told women to “stay safe” by dressing, walking, or behaving differently. But the problem isn’t women. The root lies in the men who commit these heinous crimes. It’s time to shift the narrative, hold perpetrators accountable, and create safer environments for women and girls everywhere. Safety is a fundamental right for everyone, not a privilege. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #GenderEquality #StopGBV #SafetyForAll #CaringAfrica #TheCareGap

The care economy is the backbone of every industry and community, yet it remains undervalued, fueling America’s care crisis. Care—both paid and unpaid—is essential for everything to function, but it’s still not treated as a national priority. America is one of the only developed nations without a universal paid leave policy, leaving new moms with just 12 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. These women are expected to care for their newborns while grappling with the looming financial strain. It’s time for change. Society must rethink how we value care and make it a national priority. Care is not optional—it’s fundamental. #CareEconomy #PaidLeaveForAll #CareIsEssential #SupportMothers #CareMatters #CareCrisis #NewMomsDeserveBetter #CareForCaregivers #TheCareGap

According to the World Health Organization, over 60% of contraceptive users globally are women, highlighting the gender imbalance in family planning responsibilities. This imbalance is part of a larger care gap, where women disproportionately bear the physical, emotional, and financial burden of reproductive health. Studies reveal that women spend an average of 2.5 years of their lives pregnant, postpartum, or trying to conceive, compared to men, who experience minimal physical impacts from reproduction (Guttmacher Institute, 2020). But the care gap doesn’t stop there. Women are often left to navigate inadequate maternity leave, a lack of accessible childcare, and limited healthcare resources, all while managing professional and caregiving responsibilities. This system not only undermines women’s economic contributions but also perpetuates inequality in their personal and professional lives.
