Meet Sade: A Story of Resilience and New Beginnings When COVID hit, Sade’s life took an unexpected turn. Her thriving cleaning and catering businesses collapsed, and with no place to call home, she spent the next three years in a shelter. This past October, Sade moved into one of Bridge Rockaway's supportive housing units for older adults. From the moment she arrived, she felt something special: "From the time I stepped my feet through this door, I said, ‘this is home.’ The energy here is amazing. I love it, love it, love it." Sade is not only a survivor—she’s a creator. A talented fashion designer, she even held a fashion show while living in the shelter. Now, settled into her new apartment, Sade is ready to get back to doing what she loves most: bringing her designs to life. Here’s to new beginnings, renewed dreams, and the incredible strength of people like Sade. ??
