With on-site amenities such as a c-store, study rooms, fitness center, and covered parking, we’re proud to be elevating off-campus living, right next to campus.

Last month, we had the opportunity to have our friends from Craftsman Film Co. join us from Houston, Texas, for a film and photography content marketing shoot for our newest building at The Elements—an elevated off-campus living experience near Michigan Technological University. From concept to execution, their creativity and expertise brought our vision to life, beautifully capturing what makes The Elements a truly unique place to call home. The Craftsman team showcased the unique amenities that makes The Elements a standout choice for our Michigan Technological University student tenants. The community, privately owned and operated by Braveworks, features a 24-hour fitness center, an on-site convenience store, covered parking or a heated garage, a quiet study lounge, and much more. With 20 different floor plans available, there’s something for everyone. Each unit includes essential utilities and modern appliances such as a washer and dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher—offering both comfort and convenience. Our emerging women leaders at The Vault Hotel and Hampton Inn & Suites Houghton attended the annual Women in Hospitality Leadership Conference in Grand Rapids, MI this week hosted by the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association . The Vault Hotel was a proud sponsor of this amazing event which in only a few short years has grown to over 600 attendees in Michigan’s hospitality industry. Inspirational leaders and speakers Princess Castleberry , Megan Miller , Michelle Korsmo , Anna Blue , Chef Lakisha Hunter and more took the stage to activate the room and empower these women leaders to bring their full potential to their lives and this industry. A second Northern Michigan bank is seeing new life as a luxury hotel.

LJJ Construction was proud to be the contractor of the new Keweenaw Co-Op in Downtown Hancock, MI. Together we opened the new location today in a very special celebration with the community and project partners including the MEDC. What a transformation for this community owned grocery store! We thank them for allowing us to be a part of this exciting venture and look forward to seeing the Keweenaw Co-op help the community grow for many more years.

A big congratulations to the City of Houghton for winning the 2024 Community Excellence Award at the Michigan Municipal League Convention! The Award is the League’s highest community honor, with winners determined by a vote by their peers at the Convention. The "Connecting Houghton" project transformed the city’s downtown area and waterfront, creating a welcoming space for residents and visitors with new sidewalks, public art, beautiful rain gardens, and more. “This is an incredible honor for our city,” said Houghton City Manager Eric Waara, noting that this is only the second time a U.P. community has received the honor. “Our story is about what small groups of people can accomplish after those large infrastructure investments are made and what that can do for your community.” This recognition showcases the incredible progress happening in the U.P. and serves as a shining example of the power of collaboration. September marks the 5 year anniversary of Braveworks first hotel, The Vault Hotel. We set out with a vision and mission to deliver genuine hospitality for our community and within 6 months of opening, the pandemic had hit and everything changed.
