We can do better for new mothers in the United States. With 6-8% of pregnancies classified as high-risk, and 42% of all births financed by Medicaid, it’s clear that too many women lack access to the care they need. But where challenges exist, so do opportunities for transformative solutions. That’s why The Artemis Fund is proud to announce our investment in SimpliFed—a virtual maternal health platform redefining care for moms and babies from 28 weeks of pregnancy through postpartum. SimpliFed’s Maternal Health Operating System (mOS) is more than just a platform: ? Remote patient monitoring for high-risk pregnancies ? Virtual lactation support to guide new moms ? Seamless integration with healthcare systems to scale care nationwide In a market representing a $12B opportunity, SimpliFed is tackling the $27B+ in unnecessary medical costs by bridging critical gaps, reducing waste, and improving outcomes—especially for women most impacted by social determinants of health. At The Artemis Fund, we believe in backing founders like Andrea, who are not just building companies—they’re building futures. We’re honored to be part of SimpliFed’s journey to make maternal health accessible, equitable, and empowering for all. Read more about our investment and why we believe so strongly in SimpliFed’s mission linked in the comments.

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude and pride as we reflect on a transformative year of resilience, collaboration, and progress. Partnering with exceptional founders, forward-thinking co-investors, and mission-aligned LPs, we strengthened our commitment to building a top-tier seed fund driven by operational excellence and disciplined investing. The highlights: ?? Despite market challenges, we welcomed nine extraordinary founders leading five new companies into our portfolio, including reelist, SimpliFed, RollCredits, Gemist , and Builders Patch. These visionary entrepreneurs are reshaping industries from hiring automation and financial management to lactation support and multifamily housing finance. ?? Our robust 2024 pipeline spanned innovations across fintech, commerce enablement, and care tech. We’re closely watching pre-seed startups poised for their seed raises. If this sounds like you, reach out here: https://lnkd.in/gM5W4QNv ?? Venture capital is about relationships. In 2024, we deepened partnerships with Bienville, Entrada Ventures, Nosara Capital, Rethink Impact, LP, and Core Innovation Capital, raising $33M in co-investment this year alone to support groundbreaking founders. ?? We took our hunt outside Silicon Valley, investing in underrepresented regions like Norfolk, Virginia, and West Palm Beach, Florida. We believe the next wave of innovation can emerge from anywhere with the right support. ?? Our community-building efforts resulted in 26 events across nine cities, connecting 1,100 founders, investors, and partners. We learned that small, themed gatherings and mission-aligned collaborations create lasting value. ??In 2024, we launched the Artemis Warrior Guides, providing founders with best practices on everything from VC math and market sizing to scaling businesses. You can find those on Medium, and stay tuned for more in-depth guides and market insights in 2025. ?? With tighter capital markets, we doubled down on supporting founders with financial discipline and operational rigor. Founding and funding startups is never easy, but we’re proud to stand beside resilient entrepreneurs transforming industries. As we step into the new year, we remain committed to uncovering overlooked opportunities, de-risking early-stage investments, and building a world-changing seed fund. Thank you to the founders, co-investors, and LPs who made 2024 a year of growth and purpose. Here’s to building the future — together. Most people think they need to hire a lawyer to get a divorce. Erin Levine, CEO & Co-Founder of Hello Divorce, is working on overcoming this deeply rooted belief- and building trust in the idea that an online divorce can work. With 15 years of experience practicing law, Erin witnessed firsthand how the system was stacked against individuals—prolonging conflict, escalating costs, and creating unnecessary hurdles. Divorce cases become longer and messier because lawyers charge by the hour, leaving clients stuck in a cycle that drains both their finances and emotional well-being. Erin’s journey as a founder is a story of using technology and innovation to create meaningful change in an industry resistant to it. By challenging the status quo and providing a service that makes divorce less stressful and more affordable, she is helping reshape how people think about ending a marriage—and proving that opting out of the traditional system is not just possible, but often, a better choice. You can learn more about Erin and Hello Divorce on a recent episode of How I Built This with Guy Raz, linked in the comments. Plus, you'll find the why behind our investment to disrupt the state of divorce linked there too. #divorcesupport #caretech

I'm delighted to share my latest Forbes article, featuring the inspiring story of The Artemis Fund , a women-led VC firm that closed its $36 million second fund—at more than double the amount of its first fund. Stephanie Campbell and Diana Murakhovskaya shared how Artemis defied the odds in a challenging VC landscape, raising money from an impressive list of institutional investors proving that investing in female- and minority-founded tech companies isn't just impactful—it's smart business. Their portfolio companies from the first fund have raised $250 million in follow-on funding, a testament to Stephanie and Diana’s keen eye for identifying promising ventures. The article delves into Artemis's journey, its approach to supporting female founders, and the critical role of initiatives like State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) and its Initiative for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (IIE) in fostering a more inclusive VC ecosystem. If you're an accredited investor and want to learn about this asset class, Stephanie and Diana are happy to educate you.
