Be Part of Closing the Learning Gap! We are less than a week away from our 2024 Andy Roddick Foundation Gala on November 18th at ACL LIVE in Austin! Your support at this event directly impacts our kids’ futures: ?? State Tests: Our students are not only improving their Texas standardized test scores but are surpassing their peers. ?? School Day Attendance: Our students are showing up more, with fewer missed days, keeping them on track for success. ?? Positive Behaviors: Our kids are developing essential life skills, with significantly fewer disciplinary referrals. ?? Crucial Life Skills: Our programs foster self-confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging. While high-income families have increased enrichment spending tenfold over the past 40 years, kids in low-income communities are left with fewer opportunities. By age 12, the learning gap can be as much as 6,000 hours. Attending our Gala helps eliminate this gap, empowering kids with opportunities to thrive. Don’t miss the chance to make a difference. Prop A is a massive win for all of Travis County!! Investing in affordable childcare benefits everyone in our community, leading to lower incarceration rates, reduced healthcare costs, and a better-educated workforce. With childcare costs surpassing $13,000 annually, this funding will ease financial strain and provide safe, enriching programs for thousands of children on years-long waitlists. Access to quality care empowers working families, supports early development, and ensures children thrive academically and socially. This initiative also creates a stable, living-wage workforce in childcare and afterschool programs, primarily benefiting women of color. Thanks to?Catherine McHorse,?United Way for Greater Austin,?Travis County Judge Andy Brown, Alison Alter,?Jeffrey Travillion, and Margaret Gomez, David C. Smith, Ann Howard for your leadership. This is a huge step forward for our children, families, and community! ???? ?? #PropA #YouthInvestment #ForOurFuture #TravisCountyYouth #TravisCountyTX

?? Exciting News for Our Team! ?? We are thrilled to announce that Kaitlyn (Katie) Emmert, CPA will officially join the Andy Roddick Foundation! Katie joined us after four enriching years at PwC, a globally recognized professional services firm, where she provided strategic insights to higher education institutions and academic medical systems. Her commitment to philanthropy shines through her extensive volunteer work, including participating in pro-bono projects for nonprofit organizations in the Greater Texas area. Katie’s connection to ARF was established during PwC's volunteer days, and she has been a dedicated volunteer at our summer camps for the past three years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and is also a Certified Public Accountant. Katie’s passion for giving back began during her time at Indiana University with the Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM), where she played a key role in raising over $50 million for Riley Hospital for Children. Currently, she serves as the Professional Development Chair on IUDM's Alumni Board, further showcasing her commitment to philanthropy. Outside of her professional life, Katie enjoys paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake and walking along the Butler Trail. She also finds balance and relaxation in hot yoga sessions. We are incredibly lucky to have Katie’s passion and expertise joining our Development team at ARF. Join us in welcoming her to the family! ?? #WelcomeKatie #TeamARF #PhilanthropyInAction

Celebrating Dana Read: A True Champion and Board Emeritus for the Andy Roddick Foundation. Since 2014, Dana Read an Assurance Partner at PwC and now a proud Board Emeritus member, has been a relentless force behind our mission to create opportunities for ARF youth and their families. Dana's journey began as a volunteer at our Pecan Springs summer camp, and she later took on the role of Finance Chair during her time on our board. Dana's leadership has been instrumental in our fundraising efforts. She has organized impactful events, such as volunteer days with PwC employees, and her efforts have helped us raise over $230,000 for our programs. These funds have directly benefited the youth and families we serve, allowing us to close the learning gap and improve the lives of our East Austin youth and families. Dana, we are deeply grateful for your unwavering support and the legacy you are building with ARF. Your dedication and passion have driven our mission, and we couldn't have come this far without you. Thank you for all that you do!
