The Arc Montgomery County connects people of all ages and abilities with their communities to build inclusive and fulfilling lives. We support children, youth, adults and seniors, with and without disabilities, and their families by providing inclusive child care, before and after school youth programs, work skills training, employment, community living support, resources, advocacy support and respite care. We have an annual budget of approximately $24 million and almost 500 employees, all working together to improve the lives of individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout our community.

Employing people with disabilities in hotels can significantly boost customer intentions to recommend and revisit those hotels! That's according to a new study from the University of Surrey. This pivotal study challenges long-standing misconceptions and demonstrates how #Inclusivity can benefit business outcomes. https://lnkd.in/exATxxad Work is an integral part of adult life and The Arc supports adults with disabilities by providing employment opportunities, vocational counseling and career development. October is Blindness Awareness Month and National Disability Employment Awareness Month. (#NDEAM) Nikos is a Person Centered Planning Specialist at The Arc Montgomery County and has been with us since 2020. He is also blind and uses a screen reader and braille display – two important technologies for those with visual disabilities. Nikos shows these technologies to us and shares some personal messages about how he got into the workforce. Employers, how are you making your workplace accessible?
