Our mission is to advance excellence in community-based nonprofits through advocacy and capacity building. We lend a powerful, collective voice to nonprofits throughout Connecticut, enhancing their capacity to build economically stable, healthy, and culturally rich communities. Representing hundreds of nonprofit organizations across all categories, from Health and Human Service programs to Arts and Culture, we share the passion and purpose behind each and every one of our member’s mission, and channel that purpose into a powerful, unified voice. We lead from a position of strength, representing organizations while presenting a united front before the Connecticut Legislature, state agencies, other advocacy organizations, the public and the media. As a collective voice we develop strategies and public policies that make it possible for nonprofits to thrive. Our strategic commitments work to build the capacity of our members to be vibrant and financially sustainable, and achieve excellence; advocate to ensure that the vital role of nonprofits (our members) is valued and fully supported by public policy and adequate funding; be a primary resource for our members and other stakeholders. Together we are much more powerful and influential than we can be as individual agencies.

Seeing over 750 nonprofit staff and leaders - including scores of #UConnSPP rockstar alumni - was inspiring. UConn SPP is an academic partner for #TheAlliance - so peep those benefits if you work in the nonprofit space and want to go back to school. Read the full news release below or visit: https://lnkd.in/efa7JpZw Fairfield University's College of Arts and Sciences is proud to welcome the Connecticut Community Nonprofit Alliance (The Alliance) as an academic partner. Launched in spring 2024, this collaboration provides valuable educational opportunities for professionals working in the non-profit sector who are seeking to advance their careers and make a bigger impact in their communities. Likewise, MPA students at Fairfield University, will gain hands-on experience with nonprofit operations, public policy, and advocacy work—essential elements to their future careers in nonprofit management. The Connecticut Community Nonprofit Alliance is the statewide association for community nonprofits in the State of Connecticut, dedicated to promoting excellence through advocacy and capacity building. By working with state agencies, legislators, and the public, The Alliance advances policies that help nonprofits thrive and deliver high-quality services. The Alliance members receive a 20 percent discount on tuition for Fairfield’s online Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, and the Non-Profit Management Certificate program. The MPA program offers specializations in non-profit management, city and state management, emergency management, and healthcare administration. The MPA program and Non-Profit Management Certificate program accepts applications for Spring (May), Summer (May), and Fall (September) semesters. Members of The Alliance can access information about the scholarship program and enrollment details through The Alliance website, or by contacting?Fairfield University. Through this scholarship program, Fairfield University and The Alliance are committed to supporting non-profit professionals in their pursuit of excellence, and equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive positive change within their communities.
