The African Public Affairs Committee (AfriPAC) is hosting a timely and critical webinar to address the often-overlooked experiences of Black DACA recipients. This discussion comes at a crucial time, as the #DACA program faces legal challenges that could affect hundreds of thousands of Dreamers, particularly the Black immigrants within this group. Our expert speaker, Foday Turay, Esq. will share his experiences and provide insights into the legal and personal implications of DACA for Black Dreamers. Through compelling stories of resilience and perseverance, we’ll explore the systemic barriers Black immigrants face, the fight for justice, and the urgent need for inclusive immigration reform. Gain a deeper understanding of the Black DACA experience and the critical role these communities play in shaping the future of immigration policy. The webinar will be held on Zoom and is open to the public. Event Information: ?? Date: October 8, 2024 ?? Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (CST) ?? On Monday, August 12th, our Founder, Nneka Achapu, had the honor of being invited to The White House to discuss the Welcome Corps, a U.S. Department of State initiative focused on sponsoring refugees worldwide. African Public Affairs Committee (AfriPAC) was proud to represent African diaspora organizations and leaders in this crucial conversation. The meeting included a dynamic agenda with key officials from the U.S. National Security Council, Domestic Policy Council, and Department of State, all working together to explore how the Welcome Corps can be mobilized within African diaspora communities across the U.S. We are incredibly proud of our leadership and commitment to this important cause. Join us on Tuesday, August 20, on a webinar to discuss the program! https://lnkd.in/gbDQJQBc
