There is no shortage of talent. That truth was unmistakably clear during our Spring National College Tour to the Bay Area, where Academy Group students visited UC Berkeley, Santa Clara University, and Stanford University—three of the country’s most storied institutions. But what we witnessed wasn’t just academic curiosity. It was resilience in motion. Resilience in the form of students asking bold questions in rooms not necessarily designed for them. Resilience in navigating early flights, packed itineraries, and unfamiliar environments with focus and grace. Resilience in the quiet reflections that followed graffiti art workshops, bridge crossings, and campus conversations. Talent is ubiquitous. Opportunity is not. That’s the gap we work to close—by not only opening doors but helping our students walk through them with confidence, context, and clarity. This trip was shaped by intentional stops, including a reflective visit to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and moments of joy and community at Pier 39 and 1AM SF. We are deeply thankful to the staff who led with excellence and purpose: Zulmarie Hatch, who organized every detail with precision and put students at the center of every decision @Eric Smith, who challenged students to embrace discomfort as a space for growth Viridiana Villalva Salas M.Ed, who brought lightness, laughter, and an unshakable sense of care Nia Wilson, whose calm, grounded leadership created space for reflection and integrity At The Academy Group, Inc. sure, we're happy when our students get in. We're even happier when they realize they already belong. Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart. Every founder—no matter how seasoned—has had that moment. The one where the weight of payroll, strategy, and sleepless nights makes a steady job look tempting. But the difference between those who build and those who step away? The work is bigger than them. This week, we had the privilege of bringing together leaders who don’t just run businesses—they invest in communities. Who take risks not just for their own success, but for the people they employ, the ecosystems they strengthen, and the next generation of builders watching them. Scaling a business isn’t just about personal ambition—it’s about economic impact. The jobs created. The industries shaped. The wealth built. And for those who carry that responsibility, the stakes are real. That’s why these conversations matter. Grateful for the voices in the room who made this discussion real, honest, and necessary. Nikki Bravo, Nikki Hayes, Shayla Maatuka, & Mariah Gaines-Boyd - thank you for showing what leadership looks like in action. Kudos to Taja Covey for her deft facilitation as well. The best way to support entrepreneurs? Bet on them. #Entrepreneurship #BusinessGrowth #Leadership #EconomicImpact #KeepBuilding

Karrington Stewart continues to show what’s possible when talent is connected to opportunity and when belief is matched with agency!!! #FinancialSelfDetermination #EconomicMobility #WealthBuilding
I am elated to announce that my name has been recorded on Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Policy's Dean's List this past semester. I have also received a $10,000/year grant from my college this semester to close my financial gap and to serve as a testament to my commitment of personal success here on campus. I commend my teachers, financial/academic advisors, fellow students, and The Academy Group, Inc. for supporting me in this journey to academic excellence and financial freedom. These people have gifted me with powerful knowledge and been an integral part in my successful adjustment to higher education, especially as a pre-law major. I am extremely grateful and humble to be blessed with this financial and academic support system.

Gregory Jones dropping necessary truth as always!!
Schools are so much more than individual classrooms. Good principals lead by listening first. They work to understand the diverse needs of their teachers, support staff, community, and — most importantly — students. They bring those needs together to ensure the sum is GREATER than its parts. That magic? It’s called learning, and it happens in, across, and beyond classrooms over a student’s entire academic career. Today, Chicago’s principals partner with their Local School Councils and Instructional Leadership Teams to establish vision, choose curriculum, and support learning. In the interest of progress and learning, principals must retain that right to lead. But don’t take my word for it — here is Gregory Jones, former principal of Kenwood Academy High School, sharing his perspective on contract negotiations.
