the705 is THE organization for Young Leaders in Acadiana seeking to grow professionally and personally by participating in a variety of learning and leadership development opportunities. the705 promotes and encourages a spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism through community engagement.. Three key concepts: Service: The principle of service to our neighbors wasn't invented by Americans, but we sure keep it alive. With the understanding that the only way to live in a better community is to go out and build a better community, the705 views acts of service as central to a leader's role in Acadiana. Whether through charity, volunteering or other gifts, the705 will lead the community in efforts that create lasting benefit for everyone. Education: Understanding the issues is the single most important step leaders can make in any group. That's why the705's focus on education is so important. Our forums allow members to dig deeper. Our meetings and communications keep members on top of what's happening from a young leader's perspective. Because, ultimately, we're all called to make informed decisions for our community. Fun: It's often said that people in Acadiana work hard and play hard, but there's nothing hard about it. Good living is an integral part of Acadiana culture and an integral part of the705. But we're not just talking about parties. Our meetings, projects and anything we do incorporates an aspect of enjoyment you won't find anywhere else.
