Lourdes Albornoz is a member of the Diaguita El Mollar Indigenous Community, part of the Union of the Peoples of the Diaguita Nation in Tucumán.? She is also part of the Trans-Andean Diaguita Network of Women and Gender Dissidents, "Ancestrías del Futuro", which brings together women from Argentina and Chile, as well as the Indigenous Professionals Network in Argentina. Her journey is deeply rooted in the territorial and spiritual defense of her people, guided by the Diaguita worldview. ????? She was one of the speakers in our February Monthly Wrap, where she shared her perspective on humanity and its relationship with nature. Lourdes’ words remind us that the Earth is not something we own, but something we belong to. We have distanced ourselves from nature, treating it as an object to be used rather than a living, breathing entity that sustains us. This disconnection fuels a cycle of destruction, where we take without gratitude, consume without restraint, and exploit without acknowledging the consequences. To heal the Earth, we must first heal our relationship with it. ???? Would you like to attend our next Monthly Wrap and be part of this kind of conversations? ?? 关于我们
Despite representing the global majority, too often, young people continue to be excluded from the decision-making process that are responsible for creating a liveable future for all. We believe that every young person, regardless of their economic, social or cultural background should feel empowered to contribute to the systems that impacts their lives. The 50 percent is a global youth engagement program by the Club of Rome and Penn State University. Our mission is to Activate a Generation by facilitating opportunities for youth to engage with each other, their community and the international community to solve critical issues. It is a platform for young people to act towards change by creating initiatives, tell their stories, and developing critical skills. We do this through the various programmes that we run, from the psychological mastery training, aimed to help youth tackle climate anxiety, to our youth-led magazine, centring the stories and experiences of individuals all-over the world.
