From Ms. Goldstein at PS 29x Melrose School: "I love the work of the Writing Revolution. I use some in my first grade classroom and ALWAYS get compliments on my bulletin boards! Teachers cannot believe the writing my first graders do. In this case though I sent a final piece of work from a fourth grader I tutor. Each session I use one of the content examples and we go through all of the sentence level work first. He then uses the planner and writes an essay on what he has learned. I am still learning to improve my teaching and guidance for him as I am more comfortable in first grade. I have learned so many more terms (such as using an appositive) through the Writing Revolution and am impressed with his work. His parents have shared with me that he got a 3/4 (on grade level) with his recent essay. I believe teaching him the structure of how to write a paragraph has really helped.”

From Ms Green at Louise Durham Elementary School: “I teach Kindergarten, and they are working on forming sentences. I made a slide using the provided "History of Chocolate" reading, breaking it down with graphics. As a group, we considered why we love chocolate and came up with some keywords. Students then had to complete sentence stem using one of the brainstorm words or their own words.” #writingrevolution
