We were excited to welcome Pennsylvania State Rep. Kyle Donahue on a visit to our Scranton Community Health Center last week to experience firsthand how we provide whole-person, primary care health services to families in his district. Because he co-sponsored state legislation on school-based health centers, we were also proud to have led Rep. Donahue on a tour of our West Scranton Intermediate School School-Based Health Center. Our clinical team highlighted how our school-based health center provides access to high quality, nondiscriminatory comprehensive physical and behavioral health services, with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention. Medical students from ATSU-SOMA, who spend three years training at The Wright Center for Community Health, teamed up with Kathleen Doyle, our Director of Patient-Centered Services, to inspire young minds at West Scranton Intermediate School through the Junior Achievement Program – right at the home of our School-Based Health Clinic. Junior Achievement USA equips young people with essential skills in work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, empowering them to achieve economic success and thrive in a global economy. Scott Constantini, our Associate Vice President of Primary Care and Recovery Services Integration, and Dr. Timothy Burke, Associate Program Director of our Internal Medicine Residency Program, represented The Wright Center at the Penn State Addiction Conference at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center last week!
