By monitoring processes like welding, cutting, machining and other complex and vital processes in real time, AutoMetrics facilitates real time quality control (QC) monitoring that improves upon existing sampling-based approaches to QC. Investment Rationale: Most Industrial Quality Control is done manually, by sampling batches of products. While this has been the state of the art, it is inadequate because quality control inspectors cannot inspect every item that is manufactured - they can only sample a small proportion of manufactured products. Brian and Eric Schmalzbauer were business school classmates at NYU Stern School of Business, and have known one another since 2005. Eric and Andrew Stein were teammates at Benchmark Solutions - a startup that sought to create a real time streaming data platform for the Fixed Income market.
